A sleek retreat from the urban metropolis of the world's most recognized city, Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC offers swanky downtown chic with a hint of uptown luxury. The soaring ultramodern façade, lavish amenities, and tony vibe of Manhattan's premier hotel transforms the boisterous Meatpacking District into the most sought after hot spot in the Big Apple. Inspired by the hip, cool feel of the 1960's and 70's, a bold, bright color palate of fuchsia, magenta, plum, and champagne creates a classically mod ambiance throughout the property. Lavish details like a heated rooftop pool with underwater sound-system and resplendent 5,000 square foot spa with exclusive hair studio provides contemporary comforts and a chance to be pampered like never before.

Just returned from a one night stay in a Gansevoort Suite, for which we paid more than $1600 when fees and taxes were added to our room rate. Every single staff member we encountered was polite, friendly, courteous and competent. A lovely welcome gift of bottled water and fruit tarts was delivered just after arrival. The room was spacious for a junior suite, but it was showing wear with scratched floors, nicked furniture and faucets with the trendy black finishes flaking off. The pillows were made of foam, the barn-style bathroom door did not fully open, and the air conditioning fan was loud. There were "amenities" throughout our room with price tags on them (boxed water $8, face mask $20, ...) Tacky! The guest elevators stopped working during our visit so we had to use the service elevator or walk 12 floors of stairs to access our room several times. The noise from the rooftop bar could be heard in our room on Saturday evening, but it did not last late into the night. The biggest challenge with the hotel, however, is that "memberships" are being sold to non-hotel guest to use the gym, restaurants, and private spaces. This adds significantly to the high volume of traffic in an already very busy location. It's a shame that these issues diminished our impression of the property because the staff was wonderful.

The accommodations were perfect. Beautiful room with a view and great location. The room was spacious, clean comfortable. The soap and shower gels were top of the line. They have an amazing gym and the rooftop is special treat. And the have a great pool.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I booked this room after leaving another close by hotel and this felt like refuge. The rooms were clean, the beds were so comfortable. The food from room service was good and the service is really fast. The location is amazing and I wish I could explore more but was here for work. I heard the club is nice and will definitely come back on a leisurely trip with my husband.

The hotel is clean, well located in the meatpacking district. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The fitness room is great. The bathroom was a good size and the toiletries are high quality. They provide a hair straightener and the diffusers for the hairdryer. A nice touch. The robes and slippers are also a nice touch. The desk chair was comfortable for my husband to work at. My only quibble was no coffee in the room.
