The hotel is in a great location. 5 minutes walk from grand central! The room was always clean, coffee machine provided and the staff were helpful. The doorman told us where we could get a quick meal on our first evening as we had a late flight and always said good morning and evening. My only negative was the charges seem to differ from person to person, I was charged £160 but someone else who stayed same length of time was charged £90

Hidden cost taken from me weeks after departure. After a 5-night stay at the iberostar 70 park avenue in April, they deducted $140 from my account two weeks later with no prior warning or reason given from the hotel. After requesting information on this several times via the 'contact us' email on their website and by phone without getting a response I had to write a poor review of iberostar on Google to finally get a response from the hotel proving me with an email address to mail to. I have been chatting via emails with them to find the cost is extra cost for the ability to be able to access the gym , and access the use of their phones (neither of which I used) I have never known a hotel to add this as an extra hidden cost not included in the upfront price and then automatically charge people after they have already left when they can't dispute this in person This cost was not advertised or advised all and I find this to be extremely poor business practise.

The hotel is adequate, the room was worn and a bit shabby. They seem to be constantly cleaning, which I guess is a good thing, if annoying- housekeeping knocked on my door at 8:30am, and someone was vacuuming the hallway at 10:00pm. I accidentally left a small item in the room when I checked out. I would expect a 4-star hotel to be willing to make the effort to mail the item to me, but their policy won't allow it. Very disappointing.

The hotel is dated ( for the price )the staff are not particularly friendly. There are NO catering facilities on site ( ie no where to sit and have a coffee / drink outside of your room I wasn’t going to review until I checked my bank statement and realised I have been over charged by around £70. I’ve emailed the hotel to no avail and the phone number listed does not work

We stayed here for 6 nights on our first visit to New York City. The hotel location is great, very close to Grand Central and convenient for Times Square and other midtown locations. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room on the third floor was large with a king size bed and view of Park Avenue. We could sometimes hear staff in the corridor but on the whole it was quiet. We got offered a kettle on arrival as well as 2 bottles of water that we could refill from a water fountain, but other than that there weren’t any other amenities at the hotel. Our fridge wasn’t particularly cold and the milk we bought spoiled quickly. It would have been nice to have a bit more information about the immediate local area to hand (eg food recommendations) Overall we enjoyed the stay very much though and we would stay again if we return to the city.
