One of the most disappointing experiences for a hotel that is regarded to be luxury. From my point of arrival and being placed in a run of the house room when I was supposed to have a suite to the WiFi that didn’t work it was a huge disappointment. The conference facilities were nice enough but their staff was inconsistent and rude and unhelpful at times. The quality of the food was inconsistent as well with breakfast being food but their lunch and dinner food was cold and inconsistent in quality. I will book a JW or Waldorf over this particular property.

The hotel was clean and beautiful.. it was loud and internet was not great.. but an incident happened that made me extremely uncomfortable. We are here for our anniversary, I got here before my husband and checked in.. the lady that checked me in was wonderful. I got to the room and saw a black bag sitting on the bed but it wasn’t labeled Pendry. I called the front desk to make them aware or the bag, she said it was most likely accidentally placed in the wrong room and she said she would send a bellman up to grab it. The bellman that came up was not friendly and actually rude and said there should be a box in the bag, I told him I didn’t touch it or open it, I was the one who called about it and handed him what was on the bed. I started getting ready to go down to the bar for the night when the phone rang and a manager called also saying there should be a box in there. I told her I walked into the room there was a weird bag on the bed and I called and reported it.. she said the bag should have been on the table and there should have been a box in it.. I told her again what I found when I got to the room at that point she demanded I let the bellman in my room to go through the room to find a box… I have no clue what was in the box but told her they can come when my husband gets here and I am getting ready and not comfortable having the rude bellman in my room while I’m getting ready going through my room. She again demanded I agree to let him come up at this point I was so uncomfortable and really upset. I asked her where it could be and told her I would look around while she continued to demand I let the bellman up. I found a black box in the closet (one of the places she mentioned) and set it outside.. I don’t know what was in this box that was so important but I was shaking and so thrown off and uncomfortable by what had happened that I locked the door and we didnt even end up going out. I wanted to make you aware because we have stayed in so many nice resorts/hotels and I have never been made to feel unsafe and uncomfortable. She did mention they will not be looking through my personal belongings but once again I was trying to get dressed and feel it’s totally inappropriate having some bellman searching through my room while I’m alone getting dressed in here. Sorry for the long email but again this really ruined my night and I think you should be made aware. We are spending a lot of money on this trip and we ended up sitting in the room tonight because of how uncomfortable I was made to feel.

This is a beautiful property that delivers a luxury guest experience at all levels. Conveniently located in lovely Fashion Island in Newport Beach. The hotel is immaculately maintained and provides for a very comfortable atmosphere with all the amenities you need. Room decor is upscale and comfy. Rooms are large and many with great views of the Pacific Coast. Several restaurant options at the hotel for your dining enjoyment. Very popular Bar Pendry, adjacent to the lobby. Classy upscale atmosphere throughout the property. Lovely pool area, gift shop, and fitness center. Full service spa. Outstanding customer service and care at all levels of contact. Prompt and responsive Valet service and Bell Desk. Expensive but worth every dollar. Highly recommended!

BEWARE!! I booked a stay here had to cancel (3 weeks in advance) and was denied. I was charged with a no cancellation policy. Outrageous!
