Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives

This was our second visit to the Maldives after a gap of 13 years as we had not been over impressed with our previous visit. Our experience this time though was on a completely different level and this was a holiday that it is likely we will repeat soon. The whole thing works like clockwork from our arrival at Male airport where we were met as we had been promised by representatives waiting for us and whisked off to their lounge area to await the seaplane transfer. We relaxed there for a while before being flown down to the resort to be welcomed by Aalam who turned out to be our personal assistant for the duration of our stay. Aalam worked steadily behind the scenes and was constantly available behind the scenes for information, advice and to solve any issues of help with our requests. We could WhatsApp him at any time and his smiling face would pop up at some point during the day just to check we were happy. He undoubtedly made our visit special. The island itself is like much of the Maldives very beautiful. The waters are crystal clear and the sand so fine and clean. We stayed in one of the infinity over water villas and loved it. Very private and nicely appointed with a fridge full of goodies as we were in an all inclusive package. There was decent snorkelling to be had just below our villa where we were most days able to find and swim with one of the local green turtles in the afternoon. There are two pools, one of which is adults only and both were very nice. We spent lots of time at the adult pool and there was never any problem finding a bed. It’s a lovely and well kept pool. Indeed although this is a relatively large resort nowhere ever felt busy. We never waited for drinks or struggled to find a space anywhere. We often wondered where everyone was as it never felt too busy. Food of course is important and the resort delivered in style. Breakfast is provided in a large single restaurant and was of good quality. There are a large number of tables so there was never any problem finding somewhere. Unlike many hotel breakfasts, stations were replenished regularly and you never found yourself waiting in queues at egg stations etc. The range of options are immense. Lunch and evening meals are provided at either the main buffet restaurant which changes its theme daily . We are there on the seafood night. There are then a number of different options which you have to book on the app. We sampled three of these and all were good. The French restaurant is currently housed together with the Italian but that does mean that booking for these options is a bit more difficult. Renovation of the French restaurant finishes soon so that issue should not be an issue from early 2026. Our favourite restaurant was the Indian (A taste of India)which was truly excellent. A big thank you to Jadeja who guided us through the menu and helped with our choices. So successfully that we returned on our last night. Also thanks to Gulsan at the Bamboo restaurant a native Maldivian who spent ages telling us about the resort and his country. He was just a shining example of the staff at the resort who appear to have been very well selected and trained. Everyone is just so friendly and helpful. We were only there for five nights to relax so did not do a great deal of activities. There is plenty to do though from snorkelling and diving to various spotting activities, treasure hunts, pop up bars etc etc. Criticisms? We would recommend that the toilet in the over water bills is made a little larger. When we mentioned this our hosts laughed as it appears we are not alone in raising the issue and plans are already afoot to solve the issue. To be honest this resort really is of a very high standard and it would be hard not to enjoy yourself here. So a big thanks to Aalam, Jadeja, Gulsan, the staff at Reflections bar, our lovely chatty room cleaner and to all of those who smiled and greeted us constantly during our stay. Gulsan

The staff were genuinely warm, always greeting us with a friendly “hello” and a smile that made us feel instantly at home. A huge thank you to our butler, Aung, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless — every little detail was perfectly arranged, and nothing was ever too much trouble. We also have to mention Yalsan, quite simply the best waiter ever! He made our evening at Bamboo Restaurant truly magical, arranging for the house band to surprise my beautiful lady with a special performance of Happy Birthday. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a moment we’ll never forget. Every meal, every sunset, and every smile from the team made our time here so special. We visited this resort with my wife for six nights to celebrate our anniversary. The place was absolutely amazing — the resort itself, our villa, the food, the activities, the people — everything! I would like to thank all the staff who work hard every day to offer us such wonderful experiences. In particular, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to our butler — and above all, our friend — Naveen, an exceptional, kind, and genuinely polite professional who played a major role in making our stay truly unforgettable. We went with 4 kids! Ranging from 9-26! So a difficult selection to please! We had a really lovely time here - Aung our butler was really great he went out of his way to help us and made sure he met up with us every night to check in that we are all okay. We had an issue at the beginning of the holiday where my husband had to fly back to the UK he sorted it all out super quick and efficiently. I also had problems with the app it’s super confusing when you have more than one room as a family ) to book reservations for the group as you have to log out then log in with the other booking reference for the other room and hope they still have space for the other half of your group! I got stuck with this and had a reservation for dinner for 3 not 6 people Aung sorted it at last notice for us . The villa was gorgeous. The food in general I would say was average but the atmosphere and friendly staff made up for it. Would definitely recommend.

We came back from this beautiful island 2 weeks ago and we miss it! From the minute you step on this island, you feel welcome and you just know you’ll have a great time. The villas are beautiful, clean, spacious with a really good size swimming pool and an even more spacious outdoor bathroom! The direct access to the beach is a bonus especially that it’s always quiet! You can walk around the island in about 20-25 minutes, if not not you can always call a buggy. As a couple we spent most of our time at the adult only pool where Reflection bar is situated. The drinks and food there were fab, you need to try the ceviche and the tuna salad (my favourite) but the entire menu is delicious. The staff there is amazing Aruna and his team all looked after us as if we were family, thank you so much to all of you. The food all across the island is delicious; Buffet restaurant is good for breakfast, lunch and dinner but if you go All Inclusive like we did you eat at other restaurants at lunch time. Bamboo is an excellent Asian restaurant, the Indian restaurant is as good but Trio was our favourite, it serves Italian and French food. Dilnash was always there to make sure we were treated like royalty! The food is amazing, I think we managed to try the entire menu! Our favourite were the carpaccio, the fillet mignon (cooked to perfection) and the Ossobuco. The crème brûlée was also excellent. Everything was perfect but what made our stay unforgettable is the staff, nothing is too much for them. They are all so friendly, polite and helpful please give it back to them, show them a bit of respect, a please, thank you or even a smile doesn’t cost anything! A big thank you to Aruna, Yaslan, Vipin, Dilnash, Shauna, Neeshaadh, Shahu and Ana and to the rest of the team to make our stay so special!
