Take the Good with the Bad?

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Hard to give this a rating because what was good - was very good. But what was bad - was very bad. Let's start with the positives - it's in a great location, convenient to a lot of restaurants. It's a classic old property with history and beauty throughout. If you're holding meetings there, the catering food was expensive but very good. And because it's relatively compact, everything is close by. Now for the negatives - my sleeping room didn't have a desk. Who makes hotel rooms without desks these days? Several of my colleagues had the same problem - but not all, it appears some rooms DID have desks. That was a huge negative that would definitely keep me from returning. If youre holding a meeting there, the acoustics in the meeting rooms was pretty bad - the slightest bit of noise echoed through the room and even with microphones it was very easy to be distracted. Overall this place has a lot of potential, but c'mon - a sleeping room w/o a desk???

Highly Recommend

Would Recommend! This is my third time staying at the Cottonwood. I love its charm and history. Restaurants on site are amazing. The entire staff is service focused and deliver a great experience. Jason our valet was great to work with and so accommodating with our needs.

Outstanding

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

From the minute you arrive the valet gentleman Mike, who works overnight is wonderful. He explains everything he’s gonna do how the system works for getting your car and parking your car. It was wonderful. Also, he helped us up to our room with our luggage after he parked our car, Sarah, who was working at the front. Desk was wonderful with her great customer service.

We love this place!

We not only stayed at the Kimpton, but we also attended a beautiful wedding there. The hotel is impeccable, with fire places in the entrance gathering area, gorgeous interior and a lovely pool/ garden area. The top floor has a large room where we attended the wedding, that has window views of the city. There is an outside forage area that is also very nice. The restaurant is also delicious & easy to access.

Ripped Off

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Ripped off at the front desk. Charged $1,300 for a two night stay that my company paid for ($370) - WTH? Contacted management and they pushed it back on my bank? The hold is for a month. Can you take a $1,300 hit on your personal account? I do not understand!
