Exceed expectations

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This hotel exceed our expectations Room: spacious , good amenities (especially if you are staying longer than few days, the fridge is a amazing), amazing coffee machine (got our pod from the local Walmart, saved us some $$ on coffee), cleaned every single day and early morning which I loved . We had an amazing view in the little taxi. Loved the mirror in the bathroom Towel need to be a bit bigger but appart from that no issue The air con does have a mind of its own tho Rum bar:staff was amazing , she did not add service charge automatically, which I seen review saying they did but ours didn’t (we did tip tho) Water taxi: amazing service , the staff is incredible and make you start your day with a smile On your face ! Love the fact we could go straight to the park without having to faff around Pool bar: avoid at any cost , super expensive, no value for money and you do get the 18% service charge added, we had a misery gutted serving us on our first day and we avoid it afterward . Do not waste money on this , buy your own beer and put them in your room fridge Coffee shop: absolutely brilliant service Lobby: lobby was spectacular, the view was something else . The smell was amazing but can be sting at time . Hotel is clean constantly Walk around the ground , it beautiful and look on the little lake you might see some turtle

Not as good as Aventura..

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Aventura is better value by far. We had stayed at Aventura, and were impressed, and always walked through Sapphire Falls on the way to universal and liked the vibe / theme. First thing - the room we had was excellent. 8th floor overlooking islands of adventure, and it was great. What wasn’t to great was the lack of housekeeping for one day, and an utterly awful shower that had terrible water pressure and like warm water. Yes, we recieved a letter notifying us of working to rectify following a leak, but we had to follow up further with no compensation despite paying huge amounts of money for 2 weeks. The other ridiculous feature of this hotel is the 18% service charge added at the pool bar / pool side dining. Honestly - you could buy a beer and 18% was added on. No choice on the tip at all and the service was poor most of the time, with staff simply not caring because they were guaranteed a tip. In addition - the parking charges are ridiculous and we did have valet added on for some bizarre error (refunded after we informed them, but goes to show to check your bills / invoices line by line) Sapphire Falls can be a superb hotel. The rum bar is great. The royal Dutch coffee/ snack place is well run. The lobby is clean, inviting and smells amazing. To top it off - the location is excellent. But it fails to hit all of the notes that the lower cost Aventura did, and it is literally next door. If you want to save some money and get better service - go to Aventura.

Sapphire Falls or Aventura?

Great hotel and amazing location, especially using the water taxis avoids all the queues at the hub. Staff very friendly and helpful, we had a shower problem and was dealt with efficiently. Communication could be better, one day the hotel had no hot water for part of the day due to a leak, this could have been communicated to the guests, instead of turning the shower on and getting no water and then having to contact reception. Housekeeping has room for improvement, as during the 2 weeks, I don’t think our room was hoovered, complimentary toiletries were scarce, and we had to go to the concierge for coffee cups as the bed had been made but no supplies replenished. We went three days without any housekeeping although we could have been in our room that would have been for only an hour. Great hotel is it worth the extra money from the Aventura that we have stayed in several times. We always have a king room, Aventura only one side table and as the bed is next to the window you have climb on the bed to get it.and towel rails are scarce. Sapphire great room with two bedside cabinets and a sofa that’s not scratchy ( like Aventura), the tech at Sapphire Falls is stuck in time, no You Tube, MP3 player, and no smart TV, been spoilt by the amazing IPad at Aventura where I could book restaurants etc. Both hotels have forms and against but not sure Sapphire Falls is worth the extra money. I know it’s main focus is a conference hotel unlike Aventura, who can cater more the holiday maker, and the food court at the Aventura is amazing.

Huge disappointment.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This resort may be suitable for many families but not ours. My husband was traveling for business and we were supposed to stay at another Lowe’s hotel I researched extensively before deciding to bring our adult disabled daughter. The other hotel was promising. We require connecting rooms, one with a wheel-in shower and one with a king bed since my husband is 6’ 4” and hangs off a queen bed. For whatever reason we were moved here. I immediately called the hotel to make sure this configuration was possible. When we checked in we were told this was the configuration we had. Unfortunately, when we got to our rooms this was not the case. Two queen connecting rooms, one handicap accessible. First we were told the error was made by the person who reserved the room. Later, when pressed, we were told they don’t offer that configuration. Okay, we had 4 beds and disappointedly moved on even though anywhere we parked the wheelchair it either blocked the door or bathroom. Our shower didn’t work properly if at all. My daughter’s toilet only flushed half the time. One day we never had housekeeping and the next I had to ask 3 times to have my room cleaned even though they’d cleaned my daughter’s already. The last straw was being charged $17 for receiving a $5.99 crayon delivery from Amazon. We won’t even address overcharging for room service items. The 3 stars are for the many helpful staff.

Great hotel with fantastic customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We had a lovely time at this hotel. The rooms were great with comfy beds. The pool was really nice with plenty of life guards and the water was warm. We thought the water taxis to the parks were excellent and very frequent (every 15 mins). The customer service was outstanding especially from Ace (she lived up to her name) I lost my phone which had all my cards on and photographs. She went out of her way to help me. I really don't know what I would have done without her help. She is a credit to the hotel. I was so upset but she sorted everything out for me and when I went back to my room she had left me a lovely note and a hamper of crisps chocolates and a bottle of wine. I couldn't believe it. I have never experienced such fantastic customer service. Thanks Ace I really hope your managers appreciate you because I certainly did
