A truly abysmal experience at a “5 star” hotel in Paris reminded me that this review was long overdue. My husband, 2 year old son, and I stayed at the Four Seasons Kyoto on a trip to Japan in November 2023. This hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The staff was lovely and accommodating. Our room was spacious (particularly for Japan) and in good condition with a lovely city view. The breakfast buffet is outstanding with many traditional Japanese and “western” offerings - including items that worked for my extremely particular toddler (they also have special chairs and dishware for small children and were endlessly patient when our son kept dropping his spork on the floor). They decorate for the holidays in mid November and the decor was beautiful - my son was particularly enthralled with the train. My husband celebrated his birthday while we stayed at this hotel and I thought that the card + chocolates and persimmons that they provided to celebrate were a lovely touch.

Just a beautiful hotel with many oil paintings, gorgeous wood, decor, etc. The rooms are large and perfectly appointed. Very automated from the drapes to the amazing bathroom. My one negative is that the only bar opens at 5 and it’s on the 5th floor. So if you just want to relax with a glass of wine somewhere at 1 or 2, you are out of luck. Breakfast buffet was extensive except for not so great scrambled eggs. Service overall was wonderful.

This is our second time to stay here (with Lounge Access), after five days stay , we feel very comfortable and relax , club lounge environment is very elegant , renovation with European style, room between every table is huge , everyone can their own privacy , good to share good time with family, friends, lovers or for business. This is because of their professional and super nice service, they consider every small thing and details before client request. (Something they did we were so surprised for us , one of them was they cleaned our luggage wheels before sent to our room, they are the only hotel did this) Now everyday they provide five meals in club lounge, which is breakfast , light snack, afternoon tea, evening cocktails , sweets & Cordial (5 sections); Actually Breakfast , light snacks (actually is lunch) , and evening cocktail are full of choices (4- 5 hot food, salads and wines, beer, hams, specials dishes, cakes, fruits, juice). By the way, afternoon tea we think is one of the signature, lots of ladies coming for that =) We must appreciate Chef Mr Wong and his colleagues, also Ms. Remi Abe (Club Level Manager) and her colleagues. We have been Osaka more than 10 times, we can tell this is the best service six stars hotel in Osaka.

This opulent hotel recreates a turn of the 20th century luxurious European getaway experience, striking as you are greeted by the uniformed staff and stunning display of fresh flowers. Managers and the staff were meticulous, providing what Ritz Carltons typically deliver and adding the Japanese service mentality. The meals at the breakfast buffet were phenomenal, whether perfectly prepared black truffle omelettes or typical Japanese breakfast with umeboshi and grilled fish over rice with miso soup. Our view of the city from the room was equally amazing and the proximity to the Shinkansen and subway made this an ideal base for Osaka, if you can resist the urge to spend your entire stay in this wonderful hotel.

We stayed only one night at the Ritz-Carlton Osaka (the last night of our trip to Japan!) but we had a lovely stay. As expected, beautiful hotel (assumed Old Europe style) and great service. We enjoyed the spa and (large) swimming pool. Well appointed large rooms, with nice city views. The excellent teppanyaki restaurant proved to be the perfect place to enjoy our last dinner in the country. Short ride (15min) to Osaka (Itami) Airport.
