Amani Boutique Hotel is a real gem, with a charming African charm, very intimate. The best place to relax on its private beach facing the ocean. Above all, the warm and attentive service by the staff contributed to our comfort. Congrats to all.

Wonderful 10-nights at Amani. My husband and I enjoyed the quiet, peaceful surrounding. We loved the tides and being able to swim at high tide and walk on the sea floor at low tide. The water temperature was 30 degress. The staff are fantastic. Thanks to Robert, Pendo, Alex, Josephine, and Alfred. Delicious food - lots of choice. Had two treatments with Regina which would recommend. Pool was lovely and covered lounge chairs on the beach. It you want small, quiet and top quality - this is the place for you.

This hotel was a little slice of heaven- very small and intimate, the perfect place to relax and enjoy beautiful Zanzibar for a few days. The food and cocktails were great, and the service was so personal - we were able to arrange a beautiful dinner out and snorkeling through the hotel with no hitches.

I stayed at Amani hotel with a friend and it’s quite possibly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever received. From the moment we arrived we felt at home; the staff go above and beyond to ensure that we were well looked after. There are only 14 rooms which makes it that more intimate so it never feels over crowded. The pool has enough sun loungers and the hotel is located on Pajé beach which is delightful to walk across when there’s low tide. The beach accrues a build up of seaweed, however the locals do their utmost to rake and collect the seaweed on a daily basis. We stayed in room 12 on the top floor and the room was immaculately cleaned every day with an additional turn down service in the evening. Good sized bathroom and a spacious shower room. It must be noted that the hotel does not provide an iron for the rooms so if you’re anything like me who can’t bear creased clothes do bring your own travel iron. The hotel does offer a laundry & press service and the prices are reasonable with no item costing more than $2 to iron. The fridge is stocked up daily with free bottles of water and they sprinkle toffee sweets on the bed during turndown service which is super cute. We were on a half board basis - the breakfast was buffet style which included an egg and pancake station. The fresh fruit was sublime and very tasty with a substantial variety of pastries too. The set dinner menu was well thought out, with some delightful Swahili inspired dishes - the pea masala curry with yogurt sauce being one of the standout dishes! It felt like the food was made with a whole lot of love with excellent vegetarian options too! The staff were exceptional - notably Elizabeth and her colleagues on reception and the restaurant staff were so accommodating and always served with a willingness and a smile. Thank you to Robert, Josephine, Pemba, Alex, Alfred and Othman all of whom were a delight to get to know during our time there. They made the most wonderful birthday cake for my friend who was celebrating her special day and presented it to her in true Tanzanian style - with singing and dancing! During our stay, the hotel organised a pre-dinner cocktail evening under one of the gazebos with views overlooking the beach - which gave us the opportunity to meet with Amos, the owner of the hotel as well as get to know the other hotel guests. This was a lovely touch towards the end of our stay and apparently it’s a weekly affair usually taking place on a Thursday or Saturday night. There is a small spa with massages and facials on offer. I had an aromatherapy massage courtesy of the lovely Regina - I would recommend booking in advance as I believe she is the only beautician on site. I plan to return to Zanzibar in the near future and would not hesitate to book this hotel again as it’s a hidden gem with outstanding service. I should also point out that it’s a perfect hotel to stay in if you happen to be a solo traveller as they’ll take such good care of you and it’s very secure. Book it today! You’ll be so glad you did! All that’s left to say is happy holiday!
