Pricey, but this hotel provides a level of service and elegance that is difficult to find in an increasingly brash world of mediocrity. The hotel is “out of town” but adjacent to the harbour with relaxing sea views from an ages old, beautifully positioned terrace. Ideal for those wanting charm, comfort and service.

A fantastic start to our Sicily + Sardinia vacation. Staff here second to none in terms of cheerfulness and attentiveness. They made every request seem like we were doing THEM a favor. Could not recommend more highly and I have been in the hosptitality business for 20 years so I recognize well trained staff when I see them! Room and restaurant experience first rate.

We spent three nights at Villa Igiea as part of a two week tour of sicily. It is certainly one of the most grand hotels we have stayed at in Europe and was the perfect end of our holiday. We stayed in a Suite in the separate building that had a large sitting room, nice terrace with a view of the sea and a huge bathroom. Not cheap at around 2000euro a night but by far the nicest room we had on our travels. We spent our first week in Sicily at the four seasons which is probably a nicer hotel, but the sea view terrace room we had at the four seasons was tiny compared to the room at the Villa Igiea. You are well away from the center of Palermo at the hotel a fact we loved. Maybe if you were only in Sicily a few days you would want the bustle of a city center hotel. We appreciated the calm of the Villa Igiea. The shuttle bus took us to city center in ten minutes and we had a nice day walking around the city but were blessed to be back by the sea at the end of the day. We ate dinner at the main restaurant one night which was memorable. My wife especially liked the plain tomato pasta. One night we had dinner at the bar which was fun as the band was playing jazz tunes. The other night we walked out of the hotel to a nearby Pizza place where for 25euro we got a pizza and a couple of glasses of wine. also recommended.

Our group of 3 couples began a long planned trip to Sicily with a 3 night stop at the Villa Igiea, Palermo. This is truly a special hotel. Everything was perfect, spacious rooms, amazing food and service at both breakfast and dinner. The waitstaff were the most helpful pleasant people you could ever hope for. A special thank you to Francesco who went above and beyond to help us locate all of our checked bags (8) lost by United Airlines. From the moment we arrived, 30 hours late (again due to United Airlines) we were treated like royalty by the entire staff from front desk to a lovely lady housekeeper.

A truly spectacular setting, and a lovely hotel. However, the staff really made the visit special. We felt looked after from the moment we arrived, and the concierge and team were available even before we arrived. They had ready suggestions for everything from dinner out to vintage shopping and the markets. The rooms were elegant and very comfortable, and we have wonderful views.
