Great stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Stayed at this property for five nights over April break. The hotel was sold out so I figured it would be packed but when we arrived we learned that the Aruba tower was closed. This meant the resort was maybe half full at most, which for us was a happy surprise. As Diamond members we did not get a room upgrade but did receive extra perks (I think due to the closures) such as full breakfast for two (not continental) and an Aruba Aloe amenity bag. We booked an inexpensive level of palapa in advance for our first day and then just logged on at 12:30 or later to reserve free palapas for the other days. All of the palapas are perfectly fine; we didn’t see a big advantage to ocean front. Construction noise was not an issue at all at either the beach or pools. Rooms were cleaned very well. Unfortunately, my mother got sick the night before we were supposed to leave Aruba (we think sun poisoning/dehydration), and Anastacia at the front desk helped us contact a local doctor, reserve a room for an additional night, and contact the airline to change our flights. We really appreciated her calm and helpful service during a difficult time. Our only point of constructive criticism would be the live music at the restaurant at night. It disturbed us in the room (Curaçao tower) due to the high volume of the speakers and it wasn’t enjoyable music. Thankfully it didn’t go on too late. Would recommend an unplugged performance or just dispensing with it altogether.

Another lovely vacation at the Hilton in Aruba

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This was our 8th visit to the Hilton in Aruba. By far the biggest positive for this hotel are the gracious people working there. Vickie at check in was very pleasant and accommodating. Yuely (spell?) and the other ladies working in Oscar’s are amazing working under difficult circumstances with the relocation of Oscar’s. Luisa in housekeeping was efficient and always greeted us with a smile. Angel at the towel hut helped us with our palapas. Norman at laguna’s introduced me to the pastry cook who makes the best biscuits. The construction was a non issue for us. Looking forward to our visit in 2025.

Thank goodness for the great staff!

We had a great stay at the Hilton Aruba due to the help of the staff. Unfortunately we booked with a third party and the breakfast that was on our confirmation printout but was not sent to the Hilton. With the help of Irma and Aikelene who put us in touch with Elton the Assistant Front Service Manager to remedy the situation. He explained everything to us but you can understand that we were disappointed due to the fact that we paid for breakfast and we were not going to receive the included breakfast. Elton kindness of honoring our paperwork and was tackling the job being the mediator on our behalf. What could have been a bad start to our vacation was remedied by the staff. Thank you so much !

A Great Choice for Our Stay In Aruba

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Spent 3 nights at the Hilton Aruba. Employees were courteous and helpful. All in all, we enjoyed our stay. A map of the resort is included with this review for your reference. The resort is conveniently located near many restaurants, bars, and souvenior shops all within a short walking distance at the Palm Beach Village across the street from the hotel. We (diamond) received a welcome goody bag of sunblock, lotions, and lip balm upon check-in. Full breakfast buffets for 2 guests each day, 2 bottles of water per day, and 2 drink coupons redeemable at the Castaways Bar were also included. However a room upgrade was not available. Our room was on a higher floor in the Curacao Tower (see map). Odd number rooms in this building face the garden with only a very limited view of the ocean from the balcony. The full breakfast buffet at the Laguna offered a wide variety of good quality / fresh items. It was kind of cool watching the same bird showing up every morning trying to catch his own (fish) breakfast from the hotel's pond while enjoying our own buffet breakfast. We also found it relaxing to hang out at the Castaways Bar in the late afternoon / early evening hours. A live DJ was present in one afternoon and we tipped him to play "Kokomo by the Beach Boys" for us to do a fun sing-along : ) That said, the place was fairly empty when we were there so it might be too quiet for those who prefer crowds and a more lively ambience. The main lobby and the Aruba Tower are closed for renovation but south pool is open. A new tower is also under construction which will include swim-up rooms right by the south pool. We did not notice any construction noise during our stay since we were out and about most of the time. The beach area was very nice and was not crowded with plenty of open lounge chairs. We had a rental car and never had any problem finding a spot in the front parking lot which was only a short ~1 minute walk to the Curacao Tower lobby. Parking is free for hotel guests. A thumbs up vote will be very much appreciated if you find this review helpful.

Enjoyable stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Enjoyed our stay. The positives - the grounds and room is very well maintained. The beach is fantastic and I would say amongst the best in Aruba. The location is excellent opposite an area with lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Most of the staff also excellent, especially in the main restaurant! The casino is a very good size and good fun. The negatives - there is construction taking place so during our stay you could hear the noise and the main lobby area was closed. They do however manage this well. The walls are thin in the bedrooms so can hear your neighbours. Nowhere in the resort to enjoy drinks in the evening (maybe due to construction) there was the pool bar but no one was there. Overall I would go back but after the construction is finished. The price should have been reduced during this time due to lost areas of hotel.
