Reviews for Cheval Blanc Paris

Extraordinary

Cheval Blanc Paris is a very special place. From the moment you arrive, until the day you leave, you are cared for in a way that feels unique. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff, the attention to every little detail, the amenities— all remarkable and extraordinary. And Julie was the kindest, most lovely presence during our stay. She really elevated our experience! The location is perfect and the view of the Seine and Eiffel Tower cannot be beat! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel and the people who run it. My husband and I cannot wait to return!

One of the finest!

One of the finest hotels we have ever stayed at- anywhere. Physically, the property is magnificent. The location- right next to the Louvre overlooking the Seine was perfect for a romantic anniversary. The 7th floor restaurants, bars and outdoor patios are unique and welcoming. Food and service personal and outstanding.

Aims high. Falls short.

So much to like but so frustrating. Luxy room with indulgent toiletries and all mod cons. The hotel obviously aims high and caters to a jet set clientele. But the delivery and service fell short with our visit. The concierge service communicated really badly, told us that they couldn’t get reservations at various restaurants and then, once we had made our own plans, called us the day before the trip to say we had to pay a booking fee for restaurants they had booked at the last minute. So instead of helping they made the trip really stessful. At one point we thought we would be charged 300 euros for a restaurant reservation they had made without checking with us. Another problem was that when we booked a room service breakfast, we got delivered the wrong breakfast at the wrong time and then the actual breakfast gave my wife terrible food poisoning.

I'll be back

Best hotel experience I've had but I've only been able to stay at nice hotels the last few years and possess limited experience. Wife and I stayed at the base room which I think is called the Deluxe Room. The room was definitely spacious enough for us. There are a bunch of small things this hotel and the room got right: - The concierge helped us dine at Plenitude (very nice experience) which was apparently booked until end of the year (we dined there in late March and this was not a "small thing" the hotel helped us with) - Very functional walk in closet - this thing made a lot of sense - The lockbox was like 3/4x the size of standard lockboxes I've seen at other hotels. The layout inside was clever allowing convenient storage of various jewelry and watches. - There was a dedicated cup holder for toothbrushes between the two sinks in the bathroom. I'm not sure why this isn't standard in every hotel room. - At turndown service, they put slippers by the bed (super common) but also put like this cushion thing so you have a soft landing when you get off the bed. - They provide this marble cake which is really delicious - I asked concierge for the recipe which they couldn't provide but they provided us an extra marble cake for us to take home (to be fair to these folks, the marble cake is sold at 30 euros right across the street at the LVMH cafe so I can see why they didn't want to disclose the recipe). - They provided little Dior sample every day in the bathroom. I didn't care about this but my wife made a comment that it's cute. - Some nice lady came into our room and packed our bags for us (did not know this was possible) The room was nice and modern as is the rest of the hotel. I think stuff like service, concierge, etc. was nice just like the other nice Parisian hotels. I honestly can't really judge these things that well. Location was good. Within walking and striking distance of the 6th district and just far enough away from the insanity of Louvre area. Pain in the ass to get in and out for your cab driver (or the hotel provided driver) but not really the concern of guests. No lobby bar. You have to go to the 7th floor. It's a nice bar. Small. But the hotel is small. I generally enjoy blacking out on the ground floor but I'm an incredibly resilient and adaptable person so I did on the 7th floor. Stayed here four nights. After our stay here, we stayed another four nights at another nice, very well known hotel in Paris (same ballpark in terms of price). Not to knock that place (very nice folks there) but it didn't compare to this hotel. No question I return to this place.

Perfection - 6 stars

Extraordinary - is really the only word to describe our stay at the hotel. Our room faced a side street with a view onto the Louvre - this actually might be a blessing as the windows are very large and visible from the street up. The bedroom was exquisite, with every detail thought of. Service is impeccable with staff monitoring your every move and need as you glide effortlessly through the hotel. The gym in the basement is state of the art and a pool to die for. We kept trying to find “improvements ” but could not - ok maybe one - it would be nice to have a desk height table in the bibliothèque to work on!
