Hotel Lutetia is an iconic landmark situated in the vibrant Saint-Germain-des-Prés area of Paris and the only luxury Palace hotel on the city's Left Bank. Originally opened in 1910, the building's design was a daring move from Art Nouveau to the emerging style of Art Deco. The Lutetia delivers an authentic Parisian experience and has been at the heart of the local community for more than 100 years. The hotel now features an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and lounges throughout the historical ground floor including the iconic Brasserie Lutetia and Bar Joséphine. Unique to the area, Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre is Lutetia's 700 sqm/7,500 sqft spa dedicated to wellbeing and fitness and featuring a 17m swimming pool bathed in natural daylight.

The stay at Mandarin Oriental Lutetia Paris was a truly wonderful experience. The hotel is both charming and iconic, adding a unique atmosphere to the stay. The property itself is full of character, perfectly blending heritage with modern comfort. My room was comfortable and well equipped. I would like to thank the room attendant, Aisata, who took care of my room almost every day with great attention and kindness. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Mr. Azeddine, the waiter, is an exceptionally experienced professional and a true pillar of Brasserie Lutetia. The service was impeccable — attentive, efficient, and genuinely caring. Thank you for a wonderful stay at such a magnificent property.

My recent stay at this Left Bank Palace was exceptional for three reasons. First, the building: commissioned by the family behind Le Bon Marché across the street, it’s an Art Nouveau jewel, freshly reimagined by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte—a smart blend of heritage and modernity. The hotel’s lore runs deep: artists and icons from Picasso to Josephine Baker once made it their haunt (one bar bears her name), and it remains a discreet hangout for French actors, artists, and writers today. Second, the property’s recent handover to Mandarin Oriental feels like the right fit. Their systems and savoir-faire have sharpened the guest experience without sanding off the Lutetia’s character. Most importantly, the team shines. Service is warm, polished, and personal—never robotic. I’m thinking of Marie-Anne and her fantastic concierge desk, Arthur in F&B, the stellar doormen (André?), the Bar Joséphine crew, and many others whose names I’m unfairly forgetting. It’s the only Palace on the Left Bank, and it feels every bit as singular. I’m already plotting my return.

A very beautiful hotel. The design and architecture is simply outstandin. The furniture, linen, amenitiesare all top quality and delcately selected. Very Parisien from outside, contemporary but still with a touch of French from inside. The rooms are a bit too small but very classy and the bathrooms are very spacious, bright and well designed. A quieter location than the hotels in the right bank. The breakfast restaurant is also beautifully designed. Service at the restaurant could have been better. I asked for a coffee which never came. After 20 minutes, i thought it would be easier for them to get tea. Waited for 20 more minutes and again had to remind. Housekeeping is very good. Billing was a bit of a mess and they billed me for breakfast which was included in the room. For early departures, there was a breakfast on the go, but no option of takeaway coffee or tea or juice. Almost no selection of savory items or bread, only some sweet tidbits. I would say a great hotel for a one time experience to experience a beautiful medley of history, design, refinement, and modernity.
