A Wonderful Stay in a Wonderful Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Just spent 6 marvelous days at Le Pavillon de la Reine in Paris. For years my wife and I would always go to the Plas de Voges in the Marais. This is one of our two favorite squares in the world. The other in Venice Italy. To finally stay at this wonderful hotel in the Plas esceeded our expectation. The staff is professional, helpful, and willing to accomodate in any way they can. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was really a full suite with a separate bedroom and living room. Excellent breakfast that went until 10:30 and an evening honor bar. We did not eat at the Michelin starred restaurant only because we were both with my wifes family the entire stay for dinners. What also set the hotel apart was the way they handled a plumbing emergency in our room. The second or third night a plumber had to be called to correct a problem. Several days later the problem recurred and they hotel graciously moved us into a full suite for the remainder of our stay. It was the way the plumbing problem was handled was most impressive. They could not be more helpful in moving us apologizing for the inconvenience and did everything they could to make us confortable. Will we stay there again: Absoutely. Was this hotel worth the money we spent: Absolutely Will our travel agent be notified of our wonderful experience: Yes

Charming.

Fantastic hotel. Excellent location, staff is amazing. Rooms are charming and have all amenities needed. We learned that the executive chef at the hotel restaurant has a Michelin star, so we ate there tonight. Magnificently executed on every level. We were served by Hélène, the maitre de/sommelier? Anyway, she made the experience with her excellent knowledge of the menu and fantastic recommendations. Every choice was beyond. The experience from start to finish was everything you expect from a dining experience at that level and more. Must have the caviar starter, and the crudite was tip top! Thank you again, Hélène!

Beautiful but not quite perfect

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

I dreamed of staying at La Pavillion de la Reine for years so my expectations may have been a bit overblown. It is a truly gorgeous hotel but I think I was expecting perfection. The good: the location is just a jaw dropper. What an incredible treat to stay right on the Place des Vosges. When we first walked up to the hotel, decorated for the holiday season, I was just mad for it. The lobby area is small but very luxurious feeling. When we arrived, our room was not ready but we were able to use the tiny hammam and whirlpool in the basement. The hotel also offers a really lovely fitness center on that level. We were given a room upgrade, which was really wonderful. The room was still small but it was very comfortable for two people. The bottled water is a really nice touch. The bathroom was a little surprising - the shower stall had a small, threadbare looking shower curtain that truly needed replacing. It looked so dirty I avoided touching it. On our first full day, my friend used the hotel hair dryer and it overheated, sending small and hot shards of plastic flying. Two of the shards landed on her. We were so shocked. We went downstairs to tell the front desk what happened and get a new dryer and they didn’t really say much. When I mentioned the defective dryer again when we checked, I was again met with silence. It would have been nice to at least be offered an apology. The front desk was somewhat helpful overall but not incredibly interested in providing service of the level I would expect. They always seemed very busy when I approached the desk, even when three people were working. They did secure a difficult to get restaurant reservation for us. The hotel offers a nice morning breakfast and has a lovely honor bar in the evening. Overall, I really do think I will come back but the hotel didn’t wow me the way I wanted it to.

Quaint but Tiny rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

I would love to give this 5 stars as I was fortunate to see a suite that a friend was staying in. But I booked a deluxe room and got upgraded to a superior. For 400 euro .pr night , I wonder what the deluxe was like and if I was with my husband we would not have been able to move around the rooms as it was so so small , no where to put my luggage I also found it a bit worn overall for the price , However , The staff was wonderful and the food /breakfast exceptional; location perfect

A beautiful oasis and garden in a busy city!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

I did a lot of research on where to stay in Paris. Knowing myself, I didn't want a busy area; so I'd heard a lot about La Marais, which is a more quiet, quaint part of Paris. Looking at just the pictures of this place, I was really happy to find an oasis. I booked a room and as soon as I did, I received an email from Concierge on if I need any services. Being very unfamiliar with Paris, I asked about hair salons; immediately the hotel booked me my appointment at a local salon. When I got there, I was greeted with a very very professional concierge, Arnold I believe his name was, who did every thing he can to accomodate my room. They put me in room 17, which I HIGHLY recommend. You get the best views of the garden and the city. Do NOT take the junior suites; their view is not as good as room 17, from my experience. The breakfast was very good, the lounge was very sexy and chic, and the location was perfect. I would just prefer a bit more modernization and renovation of the hotel, but what do you expect from a very historical city and area? So I was happy. Thank you Pavillon de Reine for making my trip EXTRA special!!!
