Nice luxury hotel but not a real palace. Four days before your arrival you ask the concierge to find you a restaurant for a family celebration in a special spot in Paris during your first night at the hotel (concierge.slpr@shangri-la.com), no answer. Then you ask the reception to forward a second message on the day after and you have one with two adresses and no reservation on the next day. But you did it yourself because it was coming to be too close. So not a very reactive concierge staff, or not enough people in the staff which would be acceptable in a normal hotel but not in a palace. The Shangri-la internet system keep asking you to register on line and it insists on check out too. In a palace you are a little surprised as check in and out are usually a way to meet with the hotel and reasonably quick. Will come back on that later. On arrival plenty of bellmen to catch your bags and welcome you. same thing when you go out or in the hotel , they keep your belongings if you need, perfect these guys are in number and value their jobs. At the reception not even a glass of water, nothing to welcome you. Then the receptionist show you briefly the lobby, restaurant and lift and up you go alone to your room. bizarre for a palace, looks like internet check in. but you have only two concierges at the same time and the poor guys do as they can as it is a fairly big hotel. The lobby and bar are not that small but there is little armchairs and you hardly find a seat and this was not peak season. What could it be during a fashion week. Restaurant and breakfast are nicely decorated and food is good. Service is attentive without being obsequious which is excellent. Pool is really well decorated and so is the spa. The lifeguard is attentive at everything in the pool and is a true treasure. The service in room is perfect and professional. pillows, blanket, air conditioning, general furnitures are excellent. I cannot understand why they put a bottle of red wine for you. a champaign or a proseco will be far more easier to drink when you come to your room than a red bordeaux . fruits and macarons are good no matter you do not have to drink the wine. Lots of big rooms, ballrooms and historical rooms are empty on two floors which is a pity as you lack places to rest with your family in the palace they could be used. So this is mitigated, the place is looking great, the services pool, restaurant, breakfast are at the level you are waiting for. But not concierge and reception. the overall feeling is that Shangri-la is shortening its services on concierge and reception which is a pity with this magnificent historical place.

Superb hotel with super gracious and helpful staff. Location close to the Seine and Eiffel Tower is great too. Formal style but with beautiful flowers and decor across the entire hotel.

What can I say besides...fabulous! The service was impeccable (and they gave me a beautiful gift- honey from their rooftop bees in a gorgeous crystal jar) and our room was luxurious. We didn't have a view of the Eiffel Tower but the view was nice and our suite was gorgeous. Spacious marble bathroom, comfortable living area and lovely bedroom. Decorated in that wonderful French style with rich colors and fabrics. The breakfasts were incredible and we had drinks one night with a little bite which was great too. Can't say enough about this hotel! Oh and the location is convenient too!

From the moment you arrive it feels like you are walking into a dream , everyone is so nice that it doesn't feel reel. The Hotel is beautiful and our room was incredible, decorated exactly as asked for my wife’s birthday and everything was extremely clean. Unfortunately we only stayed for 2 days , and I which we could have stayed longer , but we will come back again for sure. We now have this Hotel on our top list of best Hotels that have ever stayed at.

The entire hotel experience was impeccable. Met at the airport and had a flawless check-in. Wonderful service during the entire stay and will return on our next visit. We also loved the location which was close to the Metro and in a walkable residential area.
