Reviews for The Gleneagles Hotel

Most impressive hotel we ever stayed at

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We recently stayed here in February for 3 nights in an estate room in the original house. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels but the attention to detail and service here at Gleneagles was second to none. They have an impressive list of activities should you choose to utilize them. This place has to be one of the best hotels in Europe.

Beautiful hotel, left disappointed.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We were so excited to visit Gleneagles but didn’t live up to expectation. Staff very stretched can visibly see the struggle especially at breakfast no fault of there own service was good but if your not one to wave your hands and demand attention you will get missed. The breakfast disappointed us it all tasted perfect but hot food from buffet was luke warm which is a shame. The spa was underwhelming water in hot tub cold and the pool, the door to the outside pool was a let down considering the location it leads to looking into the back of a restaurant. My husband got a reaction on his face after going there and management could have handled it better just offering us a drink isn’t good enough in my eyes. Steamer in the room but nowhere to hang clothes. very small shower I’m only little can imagine it wouldn’t be comfortable for many as I found it tight. Garden room disappointed us coffee wasn’t great and food below average. That being said we did have amazing food at The Birnam and The dormy and cocktails great in the century bar. Overall it’s very hit & miss and wouldn’t recommend. Gutted

Wonderful experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Beautiful peaceful hotel. Room excellent. Service in room amazing, fresh towels and bed turned down with added extras of radio on, water and pillow spray provided. Food and atmosphere at Strathearn was excellent. Staff and drinks in century bar were the perfect and finished off my evening. Pool was fantastic and breakfast was out of this world. Will definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon.

A Delightful Escape!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Exuded peace and quiet. All staff were helpful, quick to respond, professional yet friendly and always a smile. Nothing was a problem. Room was of a size where you could luxuriate. Absolutely spotless and very good quality. Slept very well after a delicious experience, in every way, in the Restaurant Andrew Fairlie. Then had a lovely breakfast from the widely varied choices in the beautiful Strathearn. Walking in the grounds is calming and quiet.
