Just outstanding. Faultless.

Gleneagles is always a wonderful experience. I only wish the cost of food and drink wasn’t quite so expensive, especially in the brasserie. The brasserie itself is a lovely venue, but we struggled to find something we actually wanted to eat on our last visit. I much preferred it as a French bistro, many years ago

Simply sensational stay again. It’s certainly the best hotel in the world. Exceptional staff. There is no where else better to stay.

Having been lucky enough to stay/dine at Gleneagles a few times over the years, we had high hopes for the afternoon tea but unfortunately it was a big disappointment. When we arrived we were sat at a really low table which wasn’t at all suitable for eating at. We asked to move but they couldn’t accommodate our request so it was all just a bit awkward and uncomfortable throughout. The staff were really lovely and friendly but seemed overwhelmed so the service wasn’t quite what we’ve experienced before. We had one round of sandwiches/savoury tarts and asked for some more (as had two teenage boys in the party who were hungry) and were told that they had ran out of afternoon tea savoury items but would make us some ham and cheese sandwiches. A few more were brought out but overall the savoury element of the tea was far too small a portion. The cakes and scones were nice but not a good variety as they were all quite similar. The best part was the frozen strawberry sorbet. I know it’s afternoon tea and not a 3 course dinner but at £75 a head, it felt like we had been cheated. We’ve had afternoon tea at a number of 5* London hotels which are only slightly more expensive, and have always left unable to eat another thing (sandwiches tend to be unlimited) but we left still quite hungry and frustrated as it had been a special occasion (a big Birthday). We wouldn’t go back there for afternoon tea again. Rating 2 out of 5 for the staff and the beautiful grounds only.
