Our party of 4 (two couples) recently enjoyed 5 days in this beautiful island. The Anantara Rassanda Koh Phangan is an exceptional property situated on an amazing beach. However, there are a few items to note for potential guests (and for management attention; 1. The (Beach Bistro) restaurant is chaotic and needs a capable, experienced manager. While the restaurant had ample staff, most often they were running around with little structure and uncertain protocol or responsibilities. Lack of staff training was evident and caused several issues. During our time we never saw leadership oversight or staff training at the restaurant. 2. This resort allows smoking in most areas; on the beach, at the pool, at the bar and near the restaurants. During our visit there were tons of people smoking which deterred from our enjoyment. The level of smoking allowed is not consistent with most five star properties around the world. 3. As others have noted, there is an oddly situated adult/quiet pool (away from the swim up bar). Each day we witnessed many children and teens in the adult pool. Many staff members passed by but rarely were the kids ask to leave the adult pool. 4. Many of the facilities are showing signs of age and wear. Anantara would be well advised to spend the time and money to refresh a renew the areas of the property needing updating and upkeep. The staff is very friendly and helpful (shout out to 𝖭𝗈𝗇𝗇𝗂𝖾). This is an exceptional property but we would need to see the above items addressed before returning, particularly considering the increasing room rates.

First of all, shout out to Nonnie - what an asset to the Anantara brand. We have stayed at many around the world and this is the finest Anantara in Asia - the beach access room we had was beautiful and it was a shame we couldn’t stay longer! We will definitely be returning soon!

This is a 5 star review with reservations. The hotel was busy busy busy.This is a beautiful hotel with delightful kind service. Sanh our villa host was a star and Tua also. Breakfast service was a bit hit and miss but staff are trying hard and their a lot of trainees and im sure it will improve-it recruitment is an issue as it seems everywhere in world post covid.This is actually our 3rd visit. I'm not sure if it will be our last, but maybe ,depends on future room rates. The rooms are spacious(we had an oceanfront room) and not bad quality wise if a little.dated. There are some maintenance issues that need addressing.The hotel was very busy and similar to my review on Anantara Bophut, overall, it detracts from a 5 star experience somewhat when facilities simply can't cope. I realise selling all rooms is the ambition for Anantara but the pool area is simply too small and with just 6 loungers! We like being in the pool sometimes rather than the beach, but frankly unless late evening it was unpleasantly busy and the water becomes extraordinarily cloudy with suncream residue.We travelled exactly same dates 5 years ago and it felt so much less busy. I guess it's a victim of it's own success, and they are achieving 100% occupancy which is good for them but not the guests when paying ever higher rates which. Given this experience and Anantara Bophut experience (together with a not great stay at Anantara Laos and Hoi An past year or so)all in all my feelings for the Anantara brand are somewhat diminished . They are pushing their rates ever higher, not far off Banyan Tree territory,and their properties are not that level. Nonetheless thank you everyone at Rasananda for a great stay

we have booked garden pool villa number 2 for 5 days .good size of plunge pool and garden inside is very well decorated . we enjoyed a lot during our stay Thanks to Lily she assisted well during our stay and Management did their utmost to pampering us. there are minor negatives, first one is waves 2 days flat sea and three days waves !!! it might be our luck 😀second one is breakfast lack variety of food and staff that makes the service very slow indeed. Other than above two ,everything went smooth and well organized. Once again thank to Management and Lily gave moral when we were down.

Easily one of the best resorts we have stayed at. Beautiful beach, well designed and well run hotel. The services at restaurants, and beach front are outstanding, the general services such as the butler service is also amazing, very caring and great attention to detail. We went to the teppanyaki for dinner one night, I think the food quality is so so only but was a good experience. If you want good food with good value, you can stick with the beach restaurant. The spa is also just perfect Can’t wait to go back again
