About the Hotel

Kata Rocks is the resort of the future. Beyond their streamlined exteriors, beyond the understated white furniture and sexy, panoramic glass windows that beckon the sea into the living room, these villas are built on technology that gives guests unlimited control over their surroundings. Touch an iPod to initiate a chilled-out soundtrack to your sundowners. Adjust the blinds and dim the lights before a swim in your secluded infinity pool. Even spa treatments and dining experiences are bespoke – the former begins with a personalized consultation to direct high-tech therapies that might include an Iso-Benessere water massage bed and an infrared sauna.

Reviews for Kata Rocks

Kata Rocks- an understatement!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

Kata Rocks truly does rock! First and foremost is the staff. From the moment the hotel van picked us up at the airport 5 hrs late from an airline delay, we were treated fantastically. Upon hearing we were there for local food, Sean, the driver, brought us to a small local place to grab a bite before check-in and what a choice! Cheap, fast, authentically local, and excellent a perfect start to our stay. Check-in was a breeze and our super friendly “Rock Star” Katie, showed us to our room, and how to utilize the very many high tech amenities within. Room: Our One Bedroom Ocean Pool Loft was very modern and bright, very spacious and well appointed with a TV and couch area, full kitchen and half bath downstairs, an open loft bedroom with super comfortable king-sized bed and full bathroom with separate tub and walk-in shower. The quality of the fixture, tile and furnishings were great. The daily housekeeping included restocking the fridge of beverages, fresh drinking water, fresh fruit and some light snacks. Of course the private infinity pool was perfect, and a great depth of about 5ft.for most of it’s length. And of course, the view out over the Kata Beach bay was fantastic, made magical by the most amazing sunsets directly in front. The only thing better than the sunset view from the room was enjoying happy hour at the bar during sunset! Food/Beverage: Every breakfast, happy hour or dinner we enjoyed and were well taken care of by Max, Ice and a few others. We very much enjoyed talking with Jay and watching as he patiently helped new staff with different aspects of their job, he truly is a credit to the Food/Beverage program at KR. The sunset views are known throughout the area, and the Clubhouse bar/restaurant s open to non-guests which a few times led to some awkward behavior, but alas, it was soon forgotten as the sunset captivated our attention. The quality of the food was very high, with a great range of ala carte breakfast options, and a decently rounded lunch and dinner menu. The only “miss” was an odd order of the Jambon Buerre at breakfast that came out as a hot ham and cheese panini? The fresh juices, smoothies, coffee and latte’s were also great. The Infinity Spa at KR also is fitting of a hotel of this caliber. Kook worked with us to find the right couples massage given our stay package and reasonable upgrades, and Pla and Bam were very skillful in delivering our very relaxing massages. Staff. One noticeable aspect of KR is that it’s built into the steep hillside, and while this may be daunting for some, have no fear, there’s no shortage of staff immediately ready to come pick you up and deliver you to the top or bottom via golf cart. Down by the bar and want to go out to the main street? Your just 2 minutes away. In fact at times it was hard to turn down the ride and just walk. All the staff seems to be right there ready to do what ever might be necessary to ensure you’re having a great time. The Rock Stars at the front desk (Alesha, Katie and Qat) were always super friendly and helpful. One odd thing we noted was that in 6 nights staying there, we were the only ones who we saw actually utilize the main infinity pool? Sure the private pool in the rooms are great, but the main pool and view is spectacular. Conclusion. In the end, we really couldn’t ask for anything more than more time at Kata Rocks. The Rock Star Team at KR arranged to deliver us to our next stay as well! We came for the room, and were not disappointed, but the staff and overall quality was just incredible. How this isn’t sold out 100% of the time is beyond me. Maybe we just got the right deal at the right time… We certainly would return and can recommend Kata Rocks without hesitation.

Wonderful Stay for Our Honeymoon!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Had a wonderful stay at Kata Rocks for our honeymoon. We stayed for 9 nights and thought the experience was fantastic. They have an incredible team of friendly staff who are always willing to help. Special mentions to Alesha and Fee at the front desk, as well as Katie who helped us book our island tours and had fantastic recommendations. We enjoyed the service at the bar and kitchen from Mat, Jay, First, Max, Fu and Cherry. Our room was cleaned thoroughly daily and there is nothing here we can fault. It’s quite entertaining seeing reviews that say otherwise as our experience was perfect.

Lovely place, a lot sweet details with service , very clean and quiet.Location: Perfect! The hotel is nestled in a beautiful, tranquil bay, yet it's only a short and inexpensive taxi ride to the vibrant Patong Beach if you want to experience the nightlife. The sunsets from the private beach were breathtaking every single evening. The Room: We stayed in a Seaview Pool Villa and it was worth every penny. The room was incredibly spacious, immaculately clean, and the private pool offered the ultimate privacy and relaxation. The bed was super comfortable, and waking up to that stunning view of the Andaman Sea was a dream come true. Amenities: The main infinity pool is a masterpiece, blending seamlessly with the ocean. We also loved the world-class spa – the traditional Thai massage was one of the best I've ever had. The gym was well-equipped, and there were plenty of activities like kayaking and snorkeling available. The Staff: This is where truly shines. The staff are exceptional. They remember your name, they are always smiling, and they go above and beyond to help. Special thanks to Kai at the concierge who helped us book an amazing snorkeling trip to the Phi Phi Islands!

Good experience, but dinner not as expected

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Our stay at Kata Rocks was absolutely wonderful, thanks to the attentive and thoughtful service from the Yee, Jin, May, and Alesta team. Every detail of the accommodation exceeded our expectations, from the luxurious amenities to the serene atmosphere, making it a truly memorable experience. However, we must note that the dinner did not live up to the same standard. Both the flavor and the value for the price were disappointing, which was a letdown compared to the otherwise perfect stay. Fortunately, this did not diminish the overall enjoyment of our time at Kata Rocks, which we would highly recommend for its exceptional hospitality and comfort.
