Fairmont Mayakoba

Ivan was a great guide; he explained everything to us, showed us some exotic animals, and overall was a friendly, welcoming, kind, fantastic, guide. The water looked extremely pretty; it was glimmering and you could see what was underneath the crystal water.

We recently stayed at the Fairmont Heritage Place at Mayakoba with our 5 teenaged children. This was the second time we’ve come with all the kids and the seventh time my husband and I have stayed (we try to come every year). It is, without question, my absolute favorite place to be. The service is wonderful, staff is friendly and attentive (with many of them remembering us and reaching out from past stays), and the property is just gorgeous. As we were staying at a villa in Heritage Place, we had the pleasure of working with butlers Alejandro and Daniel. Both were just incredible and made our stay so easy and enjoyable. I can’t recommend Fairmont Mayakoba highly enough. We will continue to come back!

Every member of the staff we passed gave us a smile and always wanted to help in any way they could! Our butlers for the trip, Edgar and Ali, helped us plan so many fun activities and were so kind! Transportation was a breeze with bikes, boats (Captain Gabriel) and carts (Gabriel and team!) The food was delicious too. We loved our time at Brisas (shoutout to Jose) and Hix (David). Scuba at the dive center was so much fun. Brenda was an exceptional instructor and guide. We enjoyed our kayaking tour as well with Lisa. Thanks for a magical time, Mayakoba Fairmont!

From the moment we arrived on property I knew this would be an amazing and memorable birthday trip. Valet staff welcomed us with refreshing cold towels and welcome drinks. Check in was fast and easy. Then we were taken by golf cart ( complimentary bikes and golf carts are how you get around the resort) by Jesus!!! Jesus is the man!! He made us feel so welcomed and gave us the run down and lay of the land. His restaurant recommendations were spot on. I was pleasantly surprise once we finally arrived to our room. The attention to detail and turn down service are unmatched. You would have thought my husband booked an additional butler service because everything around our room had been touched just to show the extra care. For my birthday Dimitri the manager at Brisas Restaurant saved the day! Not only did he go above and beyond but he and his staff created a private VIP beach dinner experience! Mind blown and every expectation exceeded. I was sad to leave but even checkout was efficient and seamless. Gabriel arranged everything and even had our car waiting. I will be back! Great for couples, great for families, and great for special occasions. Very very clean, cost effective and a great value for the money.

Beautiful beach, great food (though very expensive) and excellent staff. The buggies sometime took a little time and there was sometimes a long waiting line at busy times, but overall between walking and biking getting around the large property is easy. The included activities like the boat ride and catamaran are enjoyable. It’s nice to have easy access to the other properties like the Banyan Tree and Andaz too. The little place La Fondita run by the Rosewood is lovely, though our favourite was the Fairmont’s beachfront restaurant Fuego.
