Fairmont Mayakoba

We recently spent 3 days in the Fairmont Mayakoba. It was our third time returning and once again - 10/10! The facilities are amazing and the beach is just gorgeous. We spent time at both the beach pool and the main pool. Restaurants were great - we loved lunch at he beach, and had fab dinners in the Laguna and Fuego. We were travelling with kids and they enjoyed the water slide, the kids club and loved the bikes cycling around the resort. The watersports centre was great as well - special thanks to Jerez for being so good with them with the catamaran and kayaking! We stayed in the main hotel this time (have tried different room types) and it was great - room was lovely and nice and spacious. Overall really loved it - a top class hotel and will definitely be back!

We returned from our 13th visit to Fairmont Mayakoba since 2009 and the resort is consistently exceptional. We again enjoyed a memorable visit and great weather for most of our stay. I have written detailed reviews after some previous visits, so I won't repeat everything here. First, I'd like to recognize Carmen Cortes in the Reservations Team for her help during our booking process for this visit and our 14th coming up in June. She was patient and attentive in answering our questions. She was able to offer suggestions and help where the Accor/Fairmont website experience falls short. She is a credit to the resort. We spent most of our time at the beach during this visit. There was a little sargassum in the water during our stay, but as always, it was quickly cleaned up. We'd like to see the sargassum updates posted again on Instagram and the website as the information was useful in trip planning. The hotel was at capacity during our stay and other than one day where beach service was a bit slow, we never had issues finding a palapa at the beach or space at restaurants. The beach club pool is a beautiful space and gets busy with kids. It’s unfortunate that some guests monopolize the space with toys and diving into the pool. Perhaps it should be an adult pool. The resort is as good or better than anywhere we've been in the Caribbean, and it's why we keep coming back. The maintenance and cleanliness of the grounds, common areas, and especially the housekeeping is excellent; and the staff deserves recognition. We enjoyed the water taxi service between the Mayakoba resorts. It was a great way to get to dinner at Banyan Tree one evening. We enjoy staying in the 700’s with a view of the golf course. It provides a great view while enjoying a morning coffee and a chance to see wildlife on the resort. Overall, the food is at a high standard. Drinks selection and quality are top shelf, but for our taste cocktails could be less sweet. All servers were happy to accommodate our preferences. Our favorite restaurants were Tauro and Fuego. We ate at both twice. We took the cocktail mixology class at Cielo. Arnoldo was a patient and engaging teacher. We also enjoyed the boat tour. Iker was very knowledgeable. We did find a few issues during this stay. I mention these as suggestions for improvement: -the water at the main adult pool was colder than we experienced in our previous stays. This could be improved on days when the beach is not usable. -Wi-Fi could be improved at the beach as it can be spotty. We’d like to recognize several staff members that stood out during this visit. Service very good overall and staff do their best to help. I hope I have the correct spelling: -Emilio at Hix lobby bar provided quick service and a familiar smile when we arrived. Maria and Areli took good care of us too. -Rudolpho at the adult pool was engaging and recognized our repeat visit. We’ve known Rudolpho for many years, and it is nice to see the resort has a number of long-term staff. -Erick at the beach was the first to greet us almost every day. He was attentive and went out of his way to accommodate our requests, even on his days off. Marlon, Humberto, Joel , Hugo, Luis and Alberto work hard to look after beach guests. All were great. -Jeronimo at the Brisas bar made us feel welcome at lunch and was happy to customize drinks for us. -our experience at Tauro was exceptional. We went twice for dinner. We are cocktail lovers and went early to spend some time at the bar. The drinks are top shelf and creative. Ulises was great took pride in explaining Mexican liquors and Israel made us feel welcome. Dinner service was perfect with Sebastian. -we also enjoyed the flavours at Fuego. Dimitri was welcoming and engaging, and Angel was our server both visits. Top marks to both for their attentive service. We very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back again in June!

Fairmont Mayakoba is a dream location. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire staff and our exceptional Director of Events, Ana Garcia!

Hotel is absolutely amazing! All the staff at the front desk and restaurants are professional and friendly people. Great service! Darwin and Jezer were excellent with catamaran! Oscar with the boat tour at the river! Beautiful experiences! We had so much fun at the resort by the pools, beach and with overall experiences with mezcal tasting with Kevin and mixology class with Kikey! Highly recommend to stay as it’s the best hotel in the whole Mayakoba!

Great customer service, the food was amazing. I had a great time with my family, Leobardo was great with us.
