Grand Hyatt is the best 5 star hotel in Playa Del Carmen by far, with an excellent location right on the beach! With 26st , 5 steps from Quinta Avenida . The lovely boardwalk with restaurants, bars, shops and hotels. I have stayed in a suite, as always, as it is my home in Mexico 🇲🇽! And the sea view suite is amazing ! Best view, huge terrace and an amazing big bath !The hotel offers a private beach and stunning pools! Both for families & adults only. The breakfast is a treat in a restaurant with a great service, right on the beach. What I love most is the service and the attitude of everyone working in the hotel! From bellboys to management. First and foremost, a big Thanks to Mr. Franco Fransico who upgraded me there from Thompson Beach house , and to Agustina, my friend, and super hot manager in Grand Hyatt who accepted me with warm open arms and provided me with my favorite suite so I feel at home. I love everyone working in this hotel! From Walter, Meli & Teresita in breakfast To sushi woman chef in the best Japanese restaurant in the hotel, all the pool boys , cleaning team and receptionists as well. I feel like a true princess in Grand Hyatt and always happy to come back!

I was at the Hyatt in Cancun for a Congress, probably, during not the best season due to weather condition. Staff at the Hyatt erased that sense of frustration with quality service, and an always smile and disposition to serve.

Hotel is a beautiful design and staff nice but... breakfast was average to below average. Pastries all stale. Just various small badly done things. I paid for exec lounge and one day I wanted to go downstairs to join friends in other breakfast (which is identical to exec lounge) and they said I hadn't paid for that one. Even though i'm paying 5x what anyone else is for exec lounge with breakfast. They tried to charge me for breakfasts without even telling me that it wasn't included at first too. They also make everyone whether you ahve breakfast or not, sign a receipt for breakfast, then sometimes charge you and sometimes not. It's all generally very overpriced for the quality. The drinks and food are very very expensive, more than london, but are far lower quality. The conference I was at they messed up in various ways too. Just not 5*

Grand Hyatt Hotel was 39% occupied during this time of May 2024. Our rooms were clean. The hotel is very accessible to 5th Avenue where the shops and restaurants are located. All the staffs were hospitable most especially Miguel at La Cocina.

Have always enjoyed this property. Nursing a back injury and hardly had to leave the hotel. Took advantage of dining/spa options. Great AC in the room. Clean. Service in La Cocina restaurant was outstanding. Miguel was very attentive. At the pool Veni provided great service.
