Reviews for Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya

Loved it!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

We loved our stay at the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya! The service was top notch! Every team member went above and beyond to make it an amazing time. I especially want to shout out Fermin from the entertainment team. We had so much fun with him!! He always made sure to check on us and help us out. The food was good, they were very accommodating with allergies and had something for everyone. We especially loved Tempest the Asian restaurant. The resort is smaller, but there is so much to do that we never felt bored! We spent most of our time hanging at the pool. I especially loved the swim up bar!! The surrounding area itself is not walkable, as it is right off a highway, but the hotel had a taxi service. We didn’t use it, but it was there if needed. We chose to stay on the resort except for one excursion we had booked ahead of time. Overall, this is more of a relaxing resort. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again! Thank you to the team for making it such a great experience :)!

mixed emotions, very little spoilt a great holiday by the very little being of such magnitude.

Sadly what was an excellent resort, friendly staff, great beds and amenities was blighted by the most awful sales pitch agenda that started as soon as we got off a 10 hour flight, took up to 2 hours at check in being accosted by the sales team again and we were confused, tired and misled into thinking we were going on a tour but instead taken to another hotel to be aggressively sold timeshares or monthly payment plans for holidays. This cost us an entire morning and were made to feel very uncomfortable in saying no. Also misconstrued with sun bed and terms we thought it was a courtesy after the hard sales pitch but had to pay on check out with heavy bartering to agree on paying half. My partner unwell with sun stroke couldn't make an excursion and again no measures given to assist and in the morning we were told if we had seen the doctor this would have redeemed us but we were not even informed there was a doctor, we did however pay an inordinate amount of money on prescription drugs to try and solve and all the time the staff well aware as I had been to see them. These 3 incidents really hurt the feedback which is such a shame as it was otherwise lovely, the sales agenda essentially cost me £500 as the trip was £7000 for 7 days and we spent over a morning to feel awful about ourselves, the team even saying I was clearly bad at business and should lighten up and live a little!

Relaxing stay at a chill resort!

We stayed at the Hyatt Zilara from April 25 - 29. I found the front desk staff to be very helpful, and although there was a sales pitch, they were not pushy after we declined. The resort was overall very clean which I appreciated! Our room was awesome; spacious and very comfortable. We booked a jungle view but were on the corner, nearly facing the ocean which was such a nice bonus! (Also faced the neighboring resort, heard some noise during the day but was not an issue at night!) Beach was very clean & there were plenty of loungers available. We also never had a problem getting pool chairs. There was a sailing excursion offered which was very very fun! As a foodie I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. We ate at Lola Beach pretty much every day for lunch and at the breakfast buffet (the omelette station was fire!) For dinner, I highly recommend getting reservations at the sushi bar at Tempest, we went twice for dinner and Enrique was the man there! Capri Grille was also very good, we were again pleasantly surprised with the quality of the steaks. I am gluten free and they seem to take allergies very seriously & have many gluten free options across the restaurants! One of the days they set up a taco station poolside which was absolutely necessary after a few drinks in the sun! I felt overall that the service across the restaurants and bars was good. Drinks were just okay but I think that is to be expected at an all inclusive. The entertainment staff was wonderful and we had so much fun! Water aerobics by Sandy was a blast and Fermin killed it at poolside bingo. Overall was a very relaxing stay and I’d absolutely book again!
