Reviews for Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya

Exceeded expectations

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Absolute paradise! We are beach people, and we’re not disappointed. It’s a perfect beach; clean, warm and transparent water, powdery white sand. No sargazo this time of the year (which can’t be said for the summer months). Other than that, the hotel works like clockwork. Staff are genuinely friendly and the food exceeded our expectations, both at the buffet and the specialty restaurants.

Riviera Maya Mexico Hidden Gem

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Hyatt Zilara is the best hotel we have visited in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya. Above and beyond service, excellent resort location, beautiful resort grounds, fantastic beach, top notch food and premium beverages. 24 hour room service. Minutes to 5th Avenue Playa drl Carmen shopping and beach. A hidden Gem for sure. A must visit resort.

Nice resort with hard working and welcoming stuff .

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Overall it was a good experience. We wish that there more dinner options ( hotel has only two restaurants) . Grounds are well groomed and rooms are spotless. The main goal of this review is to mention a few stuff members who amazed us with their Outstanding Performance! Firstly, we would like to thank Consierge Antonio ! This young gentlemen is caring , polite and highly professional! He went beyond his responsibilities to help us while I got sick during this vacation. Management should recognize and embrace employees like Antonio. Another person who provided an outstanding service is a waiter in the El Comedor Mr.Noe. Always with a smile, he was making sure that breakfast and lunch were enjoyable. Employees like Antonio and Mr.Noe make the hospitality industry successful a d create unforgettable and pleasant memories.

Such a great stay!

We had a wonderful time staying four nights at Hyatt Zilara! We were welcomed in our room with champagne and macarons the first day. And were left with a delicious small happy anniversary cake the second day. Our room was super clean!! Most of the food we had was so good! Desserts & pastries were amazing! We made a few coffee shop stops everyday! The café staff was so nice! Luz & Patricia were so super sweet. Lucero knew my morning order off by memory already and treated us so well! One downside was the pool and beach chairs. Unfortunately they were not in good condition & need to get them replaced.

Nice resort, overpriced, not Hyatt quality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

There are so many good things about this resort but too many issues to give it higher than 3. Check in was a breeze and for me the $15 bracelet for room key is worth it! Love not having to worry about a key card. Rooms are updated and nice no complaints at all about room at all, but please, spends 10 bucks a room and install shower hangers to dry wet swimsuits. There is literally no place to hang them. We had a resort view swim out which we loved, we were able to enjoy the pool vibe from our patio and even order drinks. Oh and do lock your door because “wild”coati can open them! Service was great. Every employee was friendly and really want to please you, so tip them frequently; they work hard long shifts. The beach is great! Soft powdery sand with a gradual slope into the ocean. Plenty of chairs and palapa. You can rent cabanas as well with full service included. The resort was probably not even at half capacity which meant no chair issues but also leads into the resorts worst issue, food quality. They only seemed to ever have only 1 of 2 restaurants open for dinner. Capri grill the Italian was garbage. Don’t get anything but the New York steak or the salmon and the mushroom soup, they are decent. Tempest wasn’t much better. Sushi is absolute trash I literally saw the guy pull a premade roll from fridge and put toppings on it. The teppanyaki and Katsu chicken are the only good things. When we couldn’t get in one evening we tried the buffet. I ate pepperoni and blue cheese that evening. My other issue is with the drinks. All the frozen drinks tasted like artificial sweetener. Premium booze non existent. If a bar ran out of a brand they wouldn’t replace until next day. I suspect they also water down their booze. Finally, the resort seems to like to corner you for a time share presentation everywhere you went. We told the lady first day we weren’t I tested yet she seemed to approach us every day. Learn to remember and respect guests that have already said no. All-in-all the resort is a nice adults only resort. Hardly Hyatt quality standards and certainly overpriced for what you get.
