If you’re looking to truly relax and recharge this is the place! Great food, beautiful stretch of beach and the entire hotel including the rooms are beautifully designed and maintained. All of this is accompanied by an incredible staff. Everyone we encountered was kind and attentive and seemed genuinely happy to be there. A special mention to beachfront server Enrique who was the highlight of our days! I felt guilty asking for much knowing he was taking care of several guests across the hot beach but he was always checking on us and showing up with extra ice, fresh drinks and the biggest smile. The service really makes this place top notch and allowed us to fully relax and enjoy.

Had a wonderful experience and trip. We’ve been to Xcaret Arte multiple times and thought this was comparable. Atelier had better service and drinks for sure. The beach was clean and well-maintained. The pools were great. The rooms were beautiful, and our butler Brandon was amazing. Super helpful and professional.

If food is a big part of your vacation, read this before you book Atelier. I’ve stayed at several five-star, all-inclusive resorts, so I know what quality looks like. Sadly, Atelier fell short—both in food and management. What I Loved:    •   Gorgeous property, modern rooms, and a beautiful beach (though most chairs are pushed back with partial to no view).    •   A few standout staff: Gilberto Rodríguez and the Mercado breakfast chef, who genuinely cared about quality.    •   A handful of memorable dishes worth the calories: tuna tostada (El Suspiro), chicharrón quesadilla & pozole verde (Mercado 19), bone marrow (Cala di Luna), shrimp fettuccine (Cielito). •. Great drinks at Bar de Calle. Where It Went Wrong:    •   Even a frequent guest admitted the food has declined under the new F&B manager.    •   Too many culinary letdowns: • Under-seasoned, grainy New York steak (Los Abrazos) • Rib Eye that turned out chewy with noticeable gristle (Cilento) • Overcooked lobster (El Suspiro) • Shrimp quesadilla with tiny, frozen-tasting shrimp (Room Service) • Mushy, greasy fried rice & off-tasting sushi with overcooked rice and overpowering sauce (Kopai) • Tough saltimbocca lacking fresh sage flavor (Cielito) • Overcooked whole fried fish (El Suspiro)    •   Dining at El Suspiro was unpleasant, with flies and mosquitoes hovering over dishes like sea bass and lobster.    •   Hydrotherapy is not worth the extra charge—I’ve experienced far better at other resorts.    •   Worst of all: after just 13 hours, I asked for a refund for my remaining 3 nights and was flatly told, “We don’t do refunds.” Bottom Line: Atelier is undeniably beautiful, but if you have a discerning palate or expect true five-star dining, you may leave disappointed. For me, it felt like a waste of both time and money. I wasn’t asking for freebies- just small portions of well-prepared food worthy of the premium price I paid.

Once again, our visit to Atelier was exceptional. To have such a great experience it takes a village! So many people made our visit so much fun. It started with Alicia (Inspira Lounge) giving a great big welcome back hug! It truly feels like a “welcome home” gesture. Outstanding Staff worthy of a special mention: Mixologists–Alberto, Irvin, Roman, Rosalina, and Freddie (cocktails are indescribable-amazing) Pool servers–Miguel Angel Mitz and Alberto Mis (he makes an excellent tequila drink) Pool managers-Carlos and Jhordy (ready with towels as soon as you pick your lounge chairs) Don Fernando Bar– Daniela and Liliana–These girls are there to serve you and have a good time. Their laughter is contagious! The Bistro located behind the Don Fernando Bar is a must during your visit. Moises will select a wine to meet your pleasure. Martin (sommelier) brought us a very nice red to sample. Cilento- our hostess Ianis had a great greeting, smile and welcoming words and Maurico was our great server Arturo and Oscar at El Spiro are like visiting with old friends Alberto and Lazaro (butlers) were available at all times if we had a request. Other fun activities around the resort: We enjoyed two evening shows in the theater–Golden Retro Show and Latin Beat. Orlando the sax player in the Don Fernando Bar and SkyBar is a must see! Appetizers in the Inspira Lounge are so tasty and just right for a mid-afternoon snack. Pool side treats–tacos, frozen bananas covered in chocolate, etc The room was amazing–great smells, exceptional bedding, toiletries, and yummy snacks! Cilento–was delicious every time we visited with special items from the chef! It was nice to see that Cala di Luna was open for lunch. Just staring at that amazing view!! Some areas that we would like to see improved from a constructive point of view: In the past, zen music was played at the main pool 9:00-11:00 AM? This was a nice way to start your morning with a quiet pool setting and calm music. Once the exercises start, the up beat music is fine. We have requested better quality house wines in past reviews. An upgrade is still very much needed. One ply tp…..embarrasing. Unfortunately we did have some food concerns this visit. The scrambled eggs at El Spiro were very dry. We ordered beef (filet) three times at various restaurants and it was not to our satisfaction–tough and chewy (not the preparation but the quality). In the past, it was tender and delicious. :( It would be nice to have alternative lunch spots in Building three, ie. Cala and Kopai alternating. Lastly it would be nice if Atelier did a follow up survey to gain feedback to visitors or members to gain feedback in addition to TripAdvisor (United and Carrabba’s even do). Atelier is a special place and we look forward to our next visit seeing our friends and enjoying the luxury the resort offers.

My wife and I just returned from our trip and while I don't often leave reviews, good or bad, felt the need as this resort is nothing short of amazing. Our butlers, Pingting and Brandon went out of their way to make sure my wife and I had everything we needed, from booking dinner reservations, to spa appointments or getting what we needed to our room. Food was great, didn't have a bad experience in a single restaurant. The only con is the menus are by QR code and they don't always have printed, forcing me to carry my phone, which I was keen on leaving behind. They nailed everything else, so keep doing what you're doing, we'll be back!
