Comfortable hotel
The Sheraton Porto is located close to the Estádio do Bessa and 4km from the Old Town. The hotel was built in 2003 and offers 265 rooms over 12 floors. Furnishings and decoration provide a nice businesslike atmosphere. Service is adequate and friendly. We were upgraded to a room at club-floor. The Club-Lounge at floor 12 was closed. For coffee & pasties or a drink & modest finger-food, we were referred to the bar. Visiting the Spa sets you back €20. Our room had desk & chair, air-conditioning, TV, club chair & coffee-table, Nespresso & tea facility, a good kingsize bed, and a wardrobe with safe & ironing facility. Window can be opened in safety mode. We had a nice bathroom with washbasin & bath, separate toilet & bidet, and separate shower. All was very clean. A very good buffet breakfast is served: eggs made to order, cold cuts & cheeses, breads & toast, cereals & fruits, milk & yoghurts, freshly made orange juice, juices & preserves, rolls & croissants, tea & coffee. Porto Sheraton is a comfortable hotel, and we had a pleasant stay. Recommended.

Very good
The negative I will start first impressions when we meet the receptionist Anna , she has no personality and customer service is poor and not clear explanation and if u ask again, what she told us she promly said "I told you " the remarks and that is not good customer service she should know clients came from different countries to travel , jet log specifically never been the place and came to check in your hotel and attitude like that is not good examples , is not pleasant at all , we stay plenty 5 start hotel 3 x a year in the past & present and the approach is the best and u know u are in 5 Star hotel. And also in the restaurant we feel the waitress long hair Daniella needs training how to serve the costumer politely and respect ,she might be nice to " a selective people" but they way she serve us one beer just bang in the table without conversation and walk away and also pick up the empty bottle with out asking ? Is not worth to visit in my opinion we stay 7 days but we visited 2x not professional if you working to a 5 star should not be like that . This is the positive, Beatrice in the receptionist she is professional , excellent customer services & approach and good communication she explained everything our stay and what or not , she is a good example of what should be working in any 5 star hotel or any hotels she have a good smile and we are delighted after and satisfied. The breakfast devine and the best foods papaya & strawberry serve by Mathew, William excellent customer also They are good example how to treat the customers and also the domestic side Aurora excellent cleanliness and hard working, maintain the quality of the room as is best . Thank you to the guy can not remember his name who help me to print out boarding pass.

Return Visit
A lot of plusses but a few negatives. The positives: 1) Check in was fast, friendly and helpful. Given minimal upgrade to club floor with breakfast and lounge access. 2) Room was spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable; bathroom had large walk in shower. 3) On site parking with valet was very convenient 4) Breakfasts buffet was very good while service was fast and efficient 5) Staff throughout hotel were personable and very helpful 6)Common areas were attractive and well maintained. The negatives: 1)Access was a bit of an issue as the street was under major repair and limited to one lane; construction noise was evident during the day while the entry to hotel was muddy most of the time. 2)Club lounge was closed and for those with access were directed to the 1st level bar where you were seated with regular customers so space was limited. It was more crowded than the usual quiet, lounge facility!

Classy new Sheraton with great service
Brand new Sheraton in Porto. Though not in the hustle and bustle of old town, immensely enjoyed this hotel. As a titanium member, the staff exceeded my expectation. That is hard to do. Would highly recommend this hotel. Great buffet breakfast. Only disappointment is the club lounge is under construction.

Great Hotel
This is a fabulous hotel that looks the part as soon as you approach it from the street. It has huge, multi-story glass windows, glass elevators, and an elegant gigantic lobby. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. The room is large, modern, and clean. The shower is comfortably large and has a rainwater shower head that bathes you in voluminous water. The restaurant breakfast is very good. They have a good mix of hot and cold dishes with a large variety of fresh fruit and juices. They even have a machine that instantly makes fresh squeezed orange juice on demand. The location is not ideal if you want to walk everywhere. There aren't many restaurants or shops nearby as it is located in a mixed residential/business area. However, there is an unbelievably amazing restaurant within a block (bbgourmet - see my other review) that makes your trip to Porto worthwhile. We took Uber downtown (approx 5 euros each way) to see the sights and visit tourist shops. On a personal note, I loved the location because it was away from the hustle and bustle of the street life, and it was immersed among the inexpensive local life. I recommend this hotel.
