Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa

We had a wonderful time at the Alchymist. The hotel is full of old world charm with spacious rooms and very friendly staff. The breakfast buffet had an abundance of choice and they served wine and cheese every day at 4:30 in the lounge area. The hotel is located in the Lessor Town just a few minutes from Prague Castle. This is quieter than the Old Town but still only a 10 minute walk from the Charles Bridge. We highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable hotel stays I’ve ever had. This 5-star luxury boutique property completely exceeded my expectations, and I will absolutely stay here again. From the moment I arrived, I felt like royalty. Check-in came with a glass of prosecco and a refreshing cool towel—such a thoughtful touch after traveling. I stayed in one of their Junior Suites, and it was massive! The décor was rich in gold accents, with such an elegant, historic charm that made me feel like a queen. It was definitely worth the splurge. The service throughout the hotel was outstanding. Every staff member I encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. One of my favorite touches was the nightly turndown service with chocolates—those little details made the experience so special. The hotel also has a lovely spa with a relaxation area, spa pool, and sauna, which was the perfect way to unwind after exploring Prague. Each afternoon, guests are invited to enjoy wine and cheese hour, so don’t miss this! Between the charm of the property, the amazing service, and all the thoughtful amenities, the Alchymist Grand Hotel is a true gem in Prague. I left feeling completely spoiled and cannot wait to return!

We had a great time at the Alchymist the staff were super friendly and helpful especially Vera our restaurant server. The hotel was in the grand style with high quality themed antique decor. Our rooms were comfortable and fully serviced. The food was very good quality and plentiful. The staff also included special touches like a free afternoon wine and cheese tasting. Definitely on our list to visit again.

This hotel captures old Prague in a magical way. The hotel is located only 5 mins walk from Charles Bridge and the gate way to old town. Location for exploring Prague was just perfect. Cannot fault anything at the hotel, we stayed in a Royal suite and oh how Royal it was, stunning. Lovely little touches with chocolates and fruit etc..each night. Had a fairytale spa and food after which was amazing! As mentioned the hotel is located perfectly for exploring Prague and you don’t have to walk too far to find some cracking little bars and restaurants even before you cross over the bridge. Highly recommended 👍

Unfortunately, I need to write a negative review. Nearly two weeks ago, we attended a wedding held at this hotel. The hotel itself looks nice, and we were looking forward to fully enjoying the experience. Our only concern was whether there would be gluten-free options at the wedding feast, as my partner has celiac disease and cannot consume any gluten without becoming seriously ill. For that reason the bride had multiplied informed the hotel’s wedding manager about my partner’s dietary restriction. We were told that the wedding buffet would have paper tags indicating whether each dish contained gluten or not. However, when we arrived at the buffet, we noticed that only two dishes had tags identifying gluten content. This was confusing, especially since there were fried shrimp in breadcrumbs labeled as gluten-free, which didn’t seem accurate. We asked a waitress to confirm with the kitchen which dishes contained gluten. The manager of the wedding celebration, then came over to explain to my partner which foods were safe to eat. When he asked if she was certain, she assured him she was. Trusting her, he started eating. After a while, she returned to inform us that the meatballs, which she previously said were gluten-free, actually contained breadcrumbs—something obviously made from gluten. As a result, my partner had to leave immediately, knowing that eating the meatballs would make him very sick for several days. When the bride’s mother spoke to the manager, the manager claimed she had warned him not to eat the meatballs unless she personally confirmed it, which was not true. Someone with celiac disease would never eat anything without clear confirmation that it’s gluten-free. The bride and groom spoke to the manager, who promised to come apologize to us at the wedding celebration, but she never did. They followed up the next day, and she said she would call me to apologize—again, this never happened. Two days later, I received a message that seemed clearly auto-generated, showing no real responsibility or concern for what happened. This experience ruined the wedding celebration for me and my partner, and he suffered from illness for three days afterward. I found the hotel’s handling of the situation extremely unprofessional. I am writing this review mainly to urge the hotel to take allergy and intolerance concerns more seriously and to consider how such oversights can deeply affect guests.
