They went out of their way to acknowledge our anniversary. Outstanding service in a very romantic and atmospheric hotel. Great location that provides easy access to the Charles bridge and castle. I cannot say enough about how professional and accommodating the staff was to our family of 6 celebrating our anniversary. Everything about this place is amazing. The breakfast buffet and coffee bar at the entrance to the hotel are fantastic. We loved our stay and really enjoyed feeling welcomed and appreciated.

Our December stay at the Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa was exceptional. The historic hotel itself was immaculate and beautifully preserved, with so much character and charm. The staff truly makes this hotel spectacular. They went above and beyond in every interaction, making us feel incredibly well cared for. Radek, Jarmila and Stan always greeted us with a warm smile and were most helpful with reservations, local Christmas concerts and markets, food recommendations and local activities. The housekeeping staff did an exceptional job—everything was impeccably clean and thoughtfully maintained throughout our visit. The nightly turn down service was a plus. Breakfast each morning was a highlight— Vera and Hola were warm, engaging, and genuinely delightful, setting the perfect tone for the day. An exceptional stay from check-in to check-out, and one I would highly recommend.

A wonderful hotel. The staff were so attentive and helpful. We had a junior suite. The whole hotel is quirky with loads of chandeliers and gold and interesting ephemera. Excellent breakfast and a decent coffee machine in the bedroom. Superb location, ideal for seeing the city.

Deeply Disappointed by How the Hotel Handled a Serious InjuryI truly wish I could write a positive review, because I had looked forward to my stay at the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa. Unfortunately, my experience took a painful turn when I slipped and fell on one of the hotel’s internal staircases. The stairs are wooden, extremely slippery, and only partially railed. Even one of the hotel staff quietly admitted to me that she avoids those stairs because they are too slippery. The fall left me with a large hematoma, multiple contusions, swelling, and injuries serious enough to require treatment the next day at the trauma hospital in Brno. I provided the hotel with hospital records, photos, and a detailed explanation of what happened. What shocked me most was not the fall itself, but the hotel’s response. Instead of empathy, concern, or even a simple apology, management told me they were “not responsible” and even questioned whether my injuries were related to the fall at their property—despite the fact that I reported it immediately and their staff brought me ice that same evening. As someone injured on their property, I expected compassion and professionalism. Instead, I received a cold, dismissive message and a “final decision” that offered no meaningful gesture of goodwill. Because of my injuries, I also had to cancel a fully prepaid holiday in Austria—a huge personal disappointment. Individual staff members were kind, but the management’s handling of this incident was deeply disheartening. For a hotel that presents itself as a luxury property, I expected far better care, accountability, and basic humanity when a guest is hurt on their premises.

I'd anticipated our stay at Alchymist for over a year, and it exceeded expectations! The accommodations were stunning, and simply enjoying time in this beautiful hotel during the afternoon wine tasting was magical. The staff were warm and welcoming, and we very much appreciated the little cafe for delicious lattes in the morning and espresso martinis in the evening (some of the best I've ever tasted!). The location was ideal--a quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance of Old Town. We can't wait to visit again!

On arrival at the Prague airport we were greeted by a driver from the hotel and whisked off to the hotel - this was a great stress-free way to arrive. We were shown around the hotel, a rather baroque Central European fantasy. Our room was a Junior Suite, which consisted of a large bedroom and living area with original wooden beams, glass chandelier and gorgeous king-size bed, as well as a lovely marble bathroom. Both of us were treated to exquisite body massages and afterwards, we relaxed in the spa with its pool, sauna and steam room. We had a voucher towards dinner in the hotel's Aquarius Restaurant. We opted for a wonderful 7-course tasting menu, a nice little bit of everything! The service and staff were exemplary. In fact, the staff were the most efficient and polite I've found in a hotel in a VERY long time. The hotel itself is in a great location - just enough away from the main tourist drag to be quiet, but is still easy enough to walk to all the main points of interest.

Service, luxurious and magnificent surrounding and accommodations are very important. My wife and I set off on an eight country European summer adventure and were overwhelmed by the Alchymist staff and hotel accommodations. Our suite was magnificent and the staff was superb. The crowning achievement however was the dinner in one of the most magnificent settings I have seen. The Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa's Aquarius restaurant is worth the trip to Prague alone. No wonder this hidden jewel is a favorite of celebrities! Well deserved and bravo again to the staff.
