Great Luxury Group Hotel - I Prefer

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The cafe was amazing. It has the best chocolates that are made in the hotel. Accommodations are very comfortable, with plenty of room for luggage. You really feel like you’ve stepped back in time, without any loss of amenities. The included breakfast is delicious with so many options. If you need to be out the door early, they can accommodate you by either opening the breakfast a little sooner or send you on your way with a sandwich and drinks to go. Also, it is close to many embassies.

Great luxury hotel in the Mala Strana district

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Excellent hotel in the Mala Strana area of Prague. It is centrally located for walking in the left bank of Prague which includes the Castle, the Mala Strana district and the Charles Bridge, all within a 10 minutes walk reach. The hotel is a converted monastery, so there are 3 buildings attached to each other, with beautiful interiors and interesting decorations. There is also a pool and a spa available, and no room is the same. I travelled with my family in a group of 4 so we were able to assess 2 rooms. The rooms are large, with a lot of carved wooden furniture and elegant drapery for the windows. Bathrooms are very good, with strong shower and high quality toiletries. There is an evening turn down service with chocolates in each room and a free water bottle daily. Staff is very helpful and kind. The restaurant Aquarius is used for breakfast (beautiful place, very good breakfast buffet) and for dinner (good Italian restaurant). Overall an elegant splurge for the romantic and the traditional traveler. I would return here again.

Magical stay

A Magical Stay at the Alchymist Hotel - Luxury Fit for Royalty Location: Perfect! We stayed at the Alchymist Hotel in Prague and couldn't have asked for a better location. Our room had breathtaking views of both Prague Castle and St. Nicholas Church. Room: Stunning! The room itself was beautiful, but the view truly stole the show. Waking up to those sights every morning was incredible. Breakfast: Divine! The breakfast buffet at the hotel's restaurant was luxurious and delicious. We loved it so much, we took advantage of room service and enjoyed breakfast in bed on a few occasions. Service: Impeccable! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. We were greeted with prosecco, and the daily complimentary cheese and wine was a lovely touch. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful, especially when there was a minor hiccup with the spa. They went above and beyond to resolve the issue, showcasing fantastic customer service. Ambiance: Enchanting! The entire hotel is beautifully decorated with art ranging from Dali to stunning paintings. It felt like staying in a museum! Spa: Tranquil Escape! The gym and spa are located in a unique cellar like area beneath the hotel. The spa itself is decorated in a relaxing Thai theme and was absolutely beautiful. I had a wonderful experience there after the initial issue was resolved. Overall: This hotel surpassed all our expectations. It offered a truly magical stay in Prague, great location, combining luxurious amenities, stunning decor, and exceptional service. We highly recommend it!

Penny pinching

We’ve stayed many times so have seen all the cut backs. Unfortunately we won’t be returning, if it’s your first time you’ll love it. But when we’ve been many times we’ve noticed the changes and won’t return. The cheese and wine is cut back to 1:2 hour and is cut back to cheese on one plate. Instead of a spread. Also used to be on for an hour. The breakfast is a poor offering not much choice the À la cart menu that was include is cut right back what a shame. Very poor breakfast now indeed. Staff cut backs, very weird over the air con. They don’t like giving the romote to use in March April time. As it’s not the season, clearly trying to cost cut. It’s a 5 star hotel get a grip. Let your guests at least make a choice on hearing or cool air. Dreadful meal in Aquarius restaurant two members of staff trying to run whole restaurant and worst meal I’ve ever eaten. Stale bread for dessert I’m not joking. Can’t believe a chef came up with the menu. What a disgrace.

Everything was just perfect :-)

Everything was just fine there. The hotel is situated just couple of minutes of walk from the Prague Castle. Even the most demanding members of our group did not find anything to complain about. There is a very cozy - romantic cafe Kallyxir in the vicinity.

On arrival at the Prague airport we were greeted by a driver from the hotel and whisked off to the hotel - this was a great stress-free way to arrive. We were shown around the hotel, a rather baroque Central European fantasy. Our room was a Junior Suite, which consisted of a large bedroom and living area with original wooden beams, glass chandelier and gorgeous king-size bed, as well as a lovely marble bathroom. Both of us were treated to exquisite body massages and afterwards, we relaxed in the spa with its pool, sauna and steam room. We had a voucher towards dinner in the hotel's Aquarius Restaurant. We opted for a wonderful 7-course tasting menu, a nice little bit of everything! The service and staff were exemplary. In fact, the staff were the most efficient and polite I've found in a hotel in a VERY long time. The hotel itself is in a great location - just enough away from the main tourist drag to be quiet, but is still easy enough to walk to all the main points of interest.

Service, luxurious and magnificent surrounding and accommodations are very important. My wife and I set off on an eight country European summer adventure and were overwhelmed by the Alchymist staff and hotel accommodations. Our suite was magnificent and the staff was superb. The crowning achievement however was the dinner in one of the most magnificent settings I have seen. The Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa's Aquarius restaurant is worth the trip to Prague alone. No wonder this hidden jewel is a favorite of celebrities! Well deserved and bravo again to the staff.
