Occupying seven buildings of a 13th century monastery and brewery, which was formerly home to the friars of the Order of Saint Augustine, Augustine, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Prague is located in Prague's posh Malá Strana district. Monuments synonymous with the Golden City such as the Charles Bridge spanning the Vlatava River, Prague Castle and immaculately landscaped Wallenstein Gardens are within easy walking distance. Recently restored with great care and attention to detail, the hotel's simple elegance is reflected in the design of the 85 sleek guest rooms. Inspired by early 20th century Cubism, interiors are furnished in contemporary European style with views of quaint courtyards or the historic chapel and Prague Castle. Amenities include high-speed Internet, flat-screen televisions, and individually controlled air conditioning. Bathrooms are clad in opulent marble with heated floors, steam-resistant mirrors and complimentary organic personal care products.

The property is nice. However, they were not honest about the internet. Not working in the rooms on the t. V YouTube was not available nor was any other internet outlet on the TV. They did not tell us that before we got in the room. It was very frustrating for me to keep trying to get it to work before I asked the desk. And then I realized I wasted a couple of hours trying to get something to work that didn't work. That's why I rate this hotel not so well.

Exceptional hotel and beautiful monastery. The entire hotel and the outstanding service from the staff was superb. From check-in with Ester who accommodated our individual upgrades to Vasilis who made us feel special at the St. Thomas Brewery downstairs (old room of the 13th century monastery) and the scrumptious breakfast and table service from Tigist, Andrea, and Dominic is unmatched with any other hotel we have enjoyed. Topped off with personal tour of the adjacent 13th century monastery by the concierge Michael also gave us a personal view of 16th century books. WOW! We stayed in the beautiful Fresco suite (facilitates with Ester’s recommendation and help). It’s a must stay. We will be back. Thank you St. Augustine.

Beautiful property. Beautiful room and if you’re an “urban type” the tram/streetcar on the road side won’t bother you at all. As a matter of fact for us city people, it’s actually comforting because we’re used to night noise! Lovely restaurant, delicious food and lovely staff. When you ask for directions make them be specific if you’re not a local language speaker. Great close-by market for late night needs and local restaurants are perfect. We loved our time here. Highly recommend!

The Augustine is located near the Charles Bridge and is a quiet oasis in a busy, beautiful city. The history of the hotel is fascinating, the amenities well above average, and the service impeccable. Their exclusive St. Thomas lager is a bonus. I’ll be back, hopefully sooner rather than later.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel on a Viking pre-cruise extension in conjunction with Viking's Grand European Trip from Budapest to Amsterdam. The extension was for 3 nights, but we extended it to 4 nights by arriving 1 day early. This hotel is associated with the Marriott chain, so we used Marriott points to book the 4th night. Go to their website to read more. Everything about this hotel is first class! A wonderful hotel..once part of a 13th-century monastery. The bar is part of the original monastic dining room, and has beautiful frescoes on the ceiling. We asked the concierge if there were tours of the monastery, and in fact there are on Thursday mornings, We signed up for the tour and after the tour, the prior invited us to have coffee with him in his quarters. Wow..A unique experience! Also, this hotel is in an excellent location for visiting all the sites in Prague, and is close to a tram stop.
