The Carlo IV welcomes its guests in a timeless way. Wrapped in a fabled atmosphere, it captivates with the refinement of its details: from the rooms to the restaurant, from the Business Center to the Cigar Bar, the mosaic bottom pool, everything is presented with a refined elegance that characterizes the hotel, amongst the most prestigious of the Czech capital. The stuccoes, the splendor of marble, classic motifs, precious woods and antique furnishings: if Prague is the city of alchemists, the Boscolo Prague is its enchanted palace.

Lovely hotel. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. It is obvious that no expense was spared when the hotel was originally built as a bank, with high painted ceilings, marble and oak flooring and wide airy hallways. It is definitely worth paying for the breakfast, which serves an extensive choice of fresh food and drinks, whilst listening to music played by the talented harpist, pianist and saxophonist. The bar/lobby offers a great selection of drinks and cocktails- the Mai Tai is particularly good. The hotel is well situated - close enough to walk into the main old town area but also far enough away for peace and quiet. I would definitely recommend the Carlo IV!

Great Experience. Good location near all city sites. Quite. Clean. Friendly staff. Nice room. Exceptional breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere. Spa is excellent for unwinding and soothing sore feet after long day touring Prague.

I enjoyed my stay, and it was excellent value. The hotel has comfortable facilites and the Spa and lobby do not disappoint. BUT - in my view the photos don't show the full story, and give the impression of a much grander and more luxurious experience. Things that disappointed me: 1) Not all heritage rooms: Only part of the hotel is in the heritage building displayed. Some of the rooms (mine included) are located in a modern building adjoining at the back. No high ceilings or palatial chandeliers, it's much more modest, but comfortable. 2) Dated fixtures and bath problem: I tried to run a bath but brown water and black flakes emptied into the tub. It was too late at night to bother asking maintenance to sort it, and I was checking out the next day. My room was dated, chipped skirting boards, light switches of unclear purpose and a slight browning of bathroom fixtures and fittings. Air conditioning system was old and not particularly effective - and windows can't be opened either. I was visiting in February but had to have it on full blast to get some ventilation - imagine summers will be hot. 3) Spa: Whilst a very clean comfortable spa, it operates on a reservration basis, you can't simply walk in as a guest, so you have to plan your day accordingly. Also be aware the sauna is nude, but you are provided with a bed sheet cloth to cover yourself. There's not a lot of space to get into a state of nature...and it's pesky having to get changed twice between the sauna and other facilities. The whirlpools are connected to the main pool, they are not a separate jacuzzi - I feel they'd benefit from offering a hot tub instead. 4) Staff attitude - some members of staff were a bit on the curt side, but others were very helpful. What makes the hotel 4* - Beautiful lobby and bar. - Clean spa with good facilities. - Rooms are made up every day to a good standard - Nice toiletries provided in rooms and spa - Breakfast is very good worth an impressive selection of choice. - Mattress topper provided quickly - the beds are quite firm. A few edits and this hotel could be very strong indeed
