Reviews for Vienna House Andel's Prague

Modern, comfortable, and perfectly located

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

This modern and tasteful hotel is situated in an excellent location in the Anděl district, with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. It offers great public transport connections across the city, and both the city center and Lesser Town (Malá Strana) are practically around the corner. Room 112 was spacious and modernly equipped. Despite being a city hotel, the room surprised us with a large terrace featuring a seating area. The terraces are separated by side walls. The room has very high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and blackout curtains that are easy to operate despite their massive size. The beds are extremely comfortable and large, featuring extra-thick mattresses and comfortable pillows. The lighting is excellently designed, ranging from nightstand lamps to reading lights. Accessible bedside power outlets are a given. There is also a coffee table with a chair, a capsule coffee machine, and an electric kettle. The coffee capsules and tea are complimentary. A safe and a minibar are available as well. The large flat-screen smart TV allows you to stream directly from your own device by simply connecting to the hotel Wi-Fi. A variety of TV channels and the hotel menu are naturally included. The hallway has a wardrobe, which is sufficiently sized for a short stay. The hangers are practical, designed for both trousers and tops, and can be removed from the closet. A luggage rack is also provided. The bathroom is generously sized and features a bathtub alongside the sink and shower cabin. The hotel offers a rich and delicious breakfast with choices for absolutely everyone. It features a very modern concept ranging from prosecco and smoothies to an Asian soup corner, fresh juices, fruit, vegetables, homemade spreads, and Czech specialties like pickled sausage (utopenec) and headcheese (tlačenka). They serve various styles of eggs and offer coffee from both an automatic machine and a barista. Like every Orea resort, they provide a "pack a snack" service instead of strictly forbidding guests from taking food away. The breakfast hours are also excellent: from 6:30 to 11:00 on weekends (until 10:30 on weekdays). The staff was pleasant and professional throughout the hotel. Check-in from 15:00 and check-out until 12:00 is highly convenient. Both can be handled online via their app, along with paying for the minibar, which saves a lot of time. I am deducting one point because we found a hair roller and some dust with hair under the bed. It was clearly not cleaned thoroughly enough before our arrival. Additionally, stepping out onto the terrace is quite dangerous due to a very high threshold. They should really consider installing steps there.

Prague visit

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We visited Prague for 3 days and really enjoyed this hotel. Breakfast is amazing with big selection of continental and cooked breakfast. All the staff are very friendly. Also, had a problem with the AC and they sent a maintenance to fix it at 7:30pm, the technician was extremely friendly and happy to fix it for us. Would definitely stay again next time we’re in Prague!

Great Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We stayed here for a few days as we were travelling around. It is quite a large hotel. We were greeted by cheerful staff. Any questions or help needed was always met with a smile. The hotel is very clean. Our room was a very good size with lots of storage. Room and bathroom were very clean. The bed and pillows were wonderful. There is a large, varied and delicious buffet breakfast. There is a bar on the premise that serves varied drinks and a few food options. There is an H&M next door and a mall across the street. It has a large grocery store there too. Transportation is easy to get in this area. We loved our stay here!

Renamed hotel beware

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

The hotel I booked had a different name to this so has obv been taken over and renamed but some online hotel sites still selling it under its original name of Vienna House by Wyndham Andel's Prague When I thought something was strange I emailed this hotel to check they had booking and didn’t get a response which isn’t ideal. Went back to online site and really difficult to communicate with them so had to hope the hotel had the booking on arrival which thankfully they did. Small rooms but space well used, bed very good , chargers beside it, fridge and safe were handy, walk in shower was good pressure thought he sink was really low and meant water went everywhere Great location next to andel’s metro station on the yellow line and multiple trams to all areas 1 minute walk away as well as a big shopping centre into a Tesco and other stores inside. Although on the west side of the river id say the public transport made it a great option as the cost was a lot less than lower rated hotels on the other side of the river. Public transport was £5 ish a day for tram, metro, bus so great value Very good breakfast included in rate, only thing that annoyed me was staff continually trying to grab plates from under you , once I had food on fork and a staff member like a seagull pounced to grab the plate before I even got the fork in my mouth - message to hotel let people finish before you try and annoy them by swiping things from table Overall hotel very modern and id recommend and return as was great value for what I paid and a great location
