Grand Hyatt Shanghai

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient, and the overall service exceeded my expectations. I was given the privilege to check in at the Grand Club Lounge, which was a wonderful experience and truly beyond what I had anticipated. Overall, it was a delightful stay with outstanding service, and I will definitely look forward to returning.

Firstly the hotel is visually impressive and despite its age is still in pretty good shape. Staff tried hard at breakfast despite catering for a lot of rough people. The hotel front desk staff however need to better trained - to a western educated person they come across as rude and aggressive. No-one answers the phone at night. The front desk staff need to be retrained or replaced. Also need to learn how say please and thankyou.

Grand Hyatt Shanghai is located on floors 53 to 87 of the Jin Mao Tower, so the views are definitely a highlight 🌇 The rooms are a bit dated, but everything was clean and well looked after. 🛏️ The bed felt a little small, but fine for a short stay. 🚿 The bathroom was clean, with a good shower and a nice bathtub — great for relaxing after a long day. 👥 Staff were friendly and professional — the lovely gentelmen at the check-in was verg polite and helpful. Overall, a comfortable stay with amazing views and good service.

Terrible check-in experience. There was a line for check-in. I asked if there was a counter for Hyatt member, the staff told me to stay in the current line. Then, she kept promoting dinner reservations to me while I was waiting. After check-in, I found there was an empty Hyatt member counter around the corner! She wasted me over 15 minutes! Breakfast was a mess. My table was taken after I brought back food. People were running around taking seat without any order. No staff was there managing the flow. A cheap buffet restaurant would do a better job than that.

Grand Hyatt Shanghai is a very nice property. It’s located right in one of the best areas. Having breakfast at floor 56 with Huangpu river view is incredible. Hotel staff is very friendly especially those working in the lounge such as Yan Lu. I am also grateful for another lady in the lounge who arranged to setup layaway bed. My only issue is that check in time is a bit long. Here the hotel staff was very nice for letting us check in in the lounge without asking whether we have lounge access or not.
