Beautiful Views in Pudong
Love this hotel. The rooms are always clean and spacious, with a beautiful floor to ceiling view over Shanghai. The location is near the metro and one can easily access a taxi from the hotel. Anyone I've ever brought to this hotel has always been impressed. My only complaint, and why this is four stars instead o five, is the checking in and checking out process. Checking in always takes an hour with a line to the elevator. A hotel with dozens of floors should have more than two people working the front desk. Or allow for auto check-in. When checking in, budget your time accordingly, because I have missed dinner reservations before due to the wait to check-in.

Solid Stay with Good Views and room for Improvement
Two-night stay over New Year’s Eve in this iconic Jin Mao Tower hotel in Pudong. Spacious rooms, great views, and solid luxury service, though some areas feel dated and crowded during peak times. (+) • Smooth check-in by Judy Fong, who kindly allocates us a partial Bund view despite booking only city view. • Large, clean rooms with comfortable beds, good amenities, and unique atrium architecture. • Good breakfast buffet—strong Western selection, decent Chinese options. Not the best but good one. (-) • No response to pre-booking request for Pearl Tower view; better communication needed for special notes. If they replied and confirm no pearl tv view, I will most likely cancel my stay here and go to bayan or ritz. • Slightly outdated interiors and fixed shower head seems require a bit of update. • Frequent queues at check-in, breakfast, and business lounge—flow could be improved. • Less open / public area to see Pearl TV from the hotel. Only hotel lobby have slight view, business lounge and the buffet area have such view. Don’t expect too much if you didn’t pay for Pearl TV tower room. It’s 4 of 5 experience for me and family. Strong choice for location and views; recommended for short stays, with room for improvement.

Great stay with nice view
Spend five nights at river facing suites with my family. Rooms are spacious, beds very comfortable including the roll away bed. Breakfast has a lot of choices both eastern and western. Tastes great. Everyday with plenty of bottled water. Grand club staff and other staff are very helpful. Wonderful stay. Highly recommended

Do not book here
The hotel is old and the wall made wood cracking sounds at night, did not sleep well. The staff relocated us to a room with strong smoke smell, we did not like the stay

Great View and Location
Conveniently located at Pudong with easy access to Oriental Pearl Tower and IFC via the pedestrian bridge. Shanghai Tower is just across the road. Lots of eateries and cafes around. Hotel has great view which is why we choose to stay here. We booked 4 rooms and all have different layout due to the configuration of the building and all our rooms have river views with 2 facing Oriental Pearl. We had lunch at Cloud 9 located at level 87 which is just 1 level below Jin Mao Level 88 Observation deck.
