Good Localization but the stay was not 4 diamond as expected

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Overall the experience was good, we opted for the a la carte breakfast and they were attentive when we asked for fruit on the side for our baby, it's worth at least 1 day to have coffee there as there is live music with a very friendly pianist, in the However, if you walk 10 minutes to the Zócalo square you will find full buffet options for half the price in equally excellent conditions. I had higher expectations for a 4 diamond hotel in basic aspects such as room cleanliness, when we entered we came across a dead cockroach on our door, in addition, the dark carpet in the room accumulated so much dust from the walls that it was easily seen as it was a contrast of dust from the white wall and a dark gray carpet. My baby crawled on the carpet and brought me hairs that she had found. For those looking for convenience due to the location, it is a good place, but paying the amount of the stay to be in a place that is not properly cleaned would not make me come back. Finally, the lighting in the windows for those who like to sleep in the dark doesn't help, the curtain is short on the sides and it was necessary to adapt it with pillows on the window to darken the room. I would add that they should modernize the doors, I saw others that were suitable. that the door was adjusted to hotel levels and ours had a partition that opened in 2 parts, making it difficult for those with a baby stroller and it was laborious to open both doors without making noise, in addition to the rigid lock, we just wanted to get there and rest, but there was the door that took time.

First Time Puebla Visit

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

Excellent customer service from the day of our arrival. Front Desk staff members (Hector) were very helpful in checking in and checking out. Our room was located on the first floor which helped us tremendously. Our room had a small patio that was beautiful. Wait staff members Betty, Eduardo, Roberto and Antonio were very attentive and excellent. House Keeping staff member Wendloi was wonderful in keeping our room clean. Laundry service was excellent. The hotel is beautiful and made our 12-day stay very welcoming. Please thank the Hotel Quinta Real Puebla staff for making our first time visit memorable. Confirmation #43007220

Superb

This was one of if not the best hotel experience I have had (and I travel extensively). Everything worked. The service was excellent. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and for a variety of tastes. It was surprisingly quiet, even though it is in the highly transited historic district, three blocks away from the Zócalo and the Cathedral. I will certainly come back to this hotel the next time I am in Puebla.

Not a five star experience.

The building is lovely and well located a block from the Zocalo. The food was atrocious. I ordered a Caesar salad and it could only have been dressed and sitting in the fridge for hours - limp, brown dressing and topped with powdered parmesan cheese from a can. Fish was inedible. I was in two rooms and both had air conditioners that were so noisy as to wake one up at night. They do this thing with the bottom sheet where it isn't long enough to tuck in and it isn't fitted, so you end up in a tangle of sheets. When I arrived, the hydrangeas in the patio were dead and when I left, 5 days later, they were still there, still dead. Not five stars at all.
