Perfect 5 days.

What a perfect 5 days. We were greeted at Male airport by resort staff, and taken to the lounge while we waited for our seaplane to the resort. It is always exciting to arrive by seaplane, our personal guest liaison greeted us once we landed, gave us a guided tour of then island and took us to our overwater villa. Our room and verandah were really beautiful, every item you could ask for was considered, including pillow mist, sun blockout and skin after sun care. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom amazing , extremely well appointed. Breakfast was the best, there is a buffet set up with a selection of wonderful things , then there is also an a la carte menu , so many wonderful options. Thank you for the raspberry chocolate muffin recipe - they are to die for. Dinner in any of the restaurants was great and could not be faulted. We had a private sunset beach BBQ , the executive chef came out to the beach and cooked for us. Meal was superb, 7 seafood course - all amazing , if anything we had too much food. Thank you. Spa was great ,we went for a massage and facial ,both were excellent - probably a little on the expensive side but still worth it. Snorkeling on the house reef was a nice surprise - lots of fish , good visibility and not a strong current. Staff are all amazing , friendly and professional, could not be faulted, thank you. From the beginning to the end it was wonderful and we didn’t want to leave.

Unforgettable experience with Alila Maldives

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Definitely highly recommend Alila Maldives! Interior: Fresh, simple and relax (if you like palatial style may be it’s not your type). The room is a bit smaller than usual resort but for me is perfectly good to cure my insomnia. I prefer beach villa rather than water villa, the jungle provides great shades for privacy, and the private beach is a gem! But may not be friendly for people hate mosquitos. Environment: 20 mins walk can cover this naturally formed island, with forest and beaches just in great proportion. And nice lovely and friendly creatures such as bats and reptiles(they are not biting)lots of sunbeds with water and towels nearby. Night walks were also really surprisingly chill with dim lights and natural stars. Love it! Facility: public restrooms cover major activities area in the whole island. electromobile can be arranged anytime within minutes to get you access to anywhere on the island. There are free sports facilities such as paddle tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball and public pool on the island, some need reservations. Plz check with your host or over the counter. Food: Three restaurants on the island. With nearly all cuisine. Asian cuisine and halal food are also available. I personally prefer Pho and yakitori and Indian curry. Try more! It will surprise you. Oh! And cooking class is fun and chill as well, there is a self-grew garden on the island, quite a lot to discover. Service: Everyone is surprisingly nice and chill without racist(paying tips is not forcible, cuz I think GST is already included, although in the end I gave $20 to my manager for the great service) and some restaurant waiter/waitress remember your favorites and habits. My host manager was Lily, she was very considerable and always with fast response. We did not require a Chinese manager, however the hotel will allocate your host apparently according to your language, it may cause a bit demand intense when you have loads of same nation guests on board. Activities: weekly free scheduled activities would keep you occupied, it won’t be free on the island! Sunset yoga is highly recommended! Some needs reservation and some you can pop in. Please check with your host. Other service: Alila has service guides all around the airport to help you onboard or even leaving, that was really surprised! Remember their uniform, they will help you out anywhere. It was really nice staying with Alila, highly recommend for first experience with Maldives
