Reviews for Conrad Maldives Rangali Island
Good but far from great!
Been to the Maldives many times, and this is a decent hotel that tries to be more than it really is. You constantly get the feeling they want you to spend as much money as possible, which isn’t a pleasant vibe. Beach service is hit or miss — decent one day, completely nonexistent the next. The bar and lunch restaurant are painfully slow; half the day can pass before the food arrives. The dining options are generally good, but the breakfast buffet at the main restaurant is overcrowded and surprisingly basic compared to most other resorts. The rooms are excellent — modern, spacious, and clearly above the average standard in the Maldives. However, the Wi-Fi is extremely slow, like being back in the early 2000s. Forget about checking emails, using Facebook, or streaming anything. At checkout, we asked for some water and were told to walk 100 meters to the bar (where they charge for it). After looking annoyed for 15 minutes, a staff member eventually brought us some still water. The worst part? We had a waiter who almost forced us to scan a QR code to write a review here. I faked that and wrote this instead. Overall, it was a good vacation, but I wouldn’t return — there are simply too many better options in the Maldives (I’ve stayed at eight different resorts over the past ten years).
