About the Hotel

Sat on a limestone throne at the peaceful pinnacle of Ravello, Belmond Hotel Caruso gazes out over the Tyrrhenian Sea. The hotel was originally built in the 11th century by a wealthy family, shipwrecked on their journey to Constantinople. It was once called Palazzo d’Afflitto—the Palace of the Afflicted. Inside, our 50 rooms have been lovingly restored to their ancient Neapolitan glory. Expect hand-crafted terracotta floors and Naples-yellow walls adorned with neo-classical antiques. Fresh flowers and stunning coastline vistas complete the experience.

Reviews for Belmond Hotel Caruso

Luxury with an attitude and no view

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We spent a few nights hear for an event we attended. My wife was very excited with all of the reviews she had read. When we arrived we felt we were being up sold on every little detail. They offered us some lemonade while we waiting to check in. They suggested drinking it buy the pool. Then have a bite while we make the room perfect. Well they charged us for the complimentary lemonade ( the region is known for lemons) After 3 pm the room was finally ready, what a view, we were told we had an ocean view, i guess in italian the bell tower translates into ocean, because that was our view. The staff didn't really care, very arrogant and almost, “ your lucky to be here” So we left and went to another very friendly hotel on the ocean( nope no more bell tower views) For the price I think there are ao many better places to stay. Food was a 4/10 and service was a 5/5 , attitude was a 10/10 ( not in a good way )

~MAGICAL Moments at The Caruso~

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This was our third visit, and incredibly, ten years have passed since our very first stay to the day. Yet, the magic of the Caruso—perched high above the Amalfi Coast—has only deepened with time. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the same warmth, elegance, and breathtaking beauty that made us fall in love with the Caruso a decade ago. The staff remembered us by name and made every detail feel effortless and personalized. The hospitality is truly world-class—genuine, thoughtful, and delivered with a touch of Italian charm that never feels rehearsed. Special thanks to Tommaso and Carmine, who always make us feel like we are home and part of the Caruso Famiglia. The rooms remain as timeless and luxurious as ever, with sweeping views that still left us speechless each morning. The infinity pool--Still one of the most iconic in the world—floating above Ravello like a secret between the sky and sea. Thank you Marco and Marco Jr- for all your insights and history. Dining and sipping aperitivo on the terrace, dining on Chef Armando's exquisite meals at The Belvedere, making pizza with Mariano, and wandering through the fragrant gardens brought back so many cherished memories while creating new ones we’ll treasure for another ten years. Belmond Caruso isn’t just a hotel—it’s a living memory for us. It’s where elegance meets emotion, and where every visit feels like the best one yet. We’re already dreaming of our next return and hope to bring our nieces and nephews so they can meet our "Caruso Family" and experience the elegance and service of a bygone era that Caruso lives & breaths. Truly the people that make it-Thank you Iolanda Mansi and Congratulations on your 20th year! Grazie mille, Belmond Caruso. You’ve stolen our hearts once again. - Tricia & Marc

Absolutely lovely

Giovanni and his team provided exceptional service, as did Iolanda. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return. This is among the most beautiful locations we have ever visited; the staff, food, and overall experience were fantastic. We highly recommend this establishment.

An amazing stay at the Caruso!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The best hotel we have ever stayed in! I proposed to my fiance at the Caruso, we were given a complimentary upgrade on arrival with an amazing terrace and sea view for me to propose on. The hotel manager met us on arrival and welcomed us to the hotel. Andrea & Francesca were amazing during our entire stay. We hope we can return one day!

Best hotel and home away from home ever!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Other worldly. Best service, atmosphere, food, location. I have visited many times and it never disappoints...only gets better. GM, Yolanda is beyond helpful ..Roberta at front also amazing. Food and beverage service beyond.. Carmino at bar makes the best most creative cocktails imaginable. Pool service (thanks to Marco) the best!! Hard to find words that can live up to what the experience is like at the Caruso.
