Happy Visitors

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Whilst perhaps not the most modern hotel in the Hilton Group, we had a great stay at this hotel. It was spotlessly clean. Staff were over and above helpful. We are Hilton Honors members so access to the lounge helped. We were looked after in great fashion by Rogerio who helped us with planning some of our excursions ( and helped us follow the Brazilian Teams in the Club World Cup) as well as Fabrianna ( in lounge, rooftop bar and at breakfast) , Eduardo Frank (lounge) , Anderson ( roof top bar/breakfast) and Raphael ( reception area) , not forgetting Karla (housekeeping, floor 23) for her great service and kind thoughts. Having mentioned individuals, it takes nothing away from all the other staff , who were all welcoming, helpful and definitely made our stay enjoyable. The hotel has a great location just across the road from the Copacabana Beach with its own seating area ( although not at waterside , perfectly fine) and is within easy walking distance of a number of great places to eat. The roof top Bar area has great views, small pool and comfy seating. A second pool on floor 4 looked great but we didn’t access it as it was ( for us ) the wrong time of year - a bit windy. Breakfast area at times could be busy, like most places, although well stocked/restocked with a wide range of breakfast items to suit all tastes ( even a Juicer!). 12 o clock check out looked a bit busy , like many places( FYI), Ubers/Taxis easily picked up outside. We enjoyed our stay and felt safe an comfortable. Loved the staff. Thanks for having us!

"Hilton property"

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I stayed here for 4 days. Although the hotel has quite a few questionable reviews, I decided to give it a chance since it’s part of the Hilton chain (my favorite). For a property built in the 1970s, it’s relatively well preserved. The room was just okay, but I experienced several issues during my stay. For instance, I asked to have my room cleaned before leaving the hotel in the morning. Someone at the front desk took note of my room number on a piece of paper, but when I returned around 5 PM, the room had not been serviced. I had to wait nearly two hours, making several phone calls, going down to the front desk, and even speaking with the manager before it was finally cleaned. The food was good, although I found the cocktails lacking in flavor. Breakfast was very good as well, but be aware, they close the doors exactly at the scheduled time. Even being one minute late means you won’t be allowed in. On the positive side, the hotel offers beach access with chairs and umbrellas for relaxing, and the views from the terrace are stunning. However, another concerning issue was the number of guests due to a pharmaceutical convention taking place at the time. The elevators have a maximum capacity of 10 people, but on several occasions, more than 15 people crammed in, creating a serious safety risk. I actually got off the elevator for my own safety, even though I had boarded when there were fewer than 10 people. Unfortunately, the hotel staff doesn’t monitor or control this at all. Overall, this hotel has a long way to go to meet the standards expected of a 5-star Hilton property.

Incredible Stay with Friends

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Incredible experience at this Hotel. From the room to the facilities we had a great experience. The Hotel Location was great, just in front of the beach, where they even had a private spot with Chairs and Umbrellas. The rooms were spacious and offered all required. The Facilities were amazing. 2 heated Pools and a spa area with Jacuzzi, Sauna and steam Rooms. The Bar on the top and breakfast offered great Food & Beverage Offerings, where the great hospitality of Alessandro made the stay even better. My only suggestion would be to keep the Rooftop Pool for Adults only as when kids were around it did make some of the adults uncomfortable.

A typical Hilton hotel with an amazing view

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We are a couple who stayed at the Hilton Copacabana in June 2025. It was our second visit to Rio and we had an amazing stay right across from the magnificent Copacabana beach. PROS Sunbeds, beach towels and umbrellas are available from the hotels own spot at the beach that are free of charge Two pools that are heated, one of which is on the rooftop with a nice view The pool on the fourth floor is bigger, less crowded and you can swim in it Concierge helped us book some tours and gave us information and a map of the area Amazing view from the room over Copacabana Mini bar as well as coffee and tea in the room Very good cleaning every day Staff was fluent in English Very tasty huge breakfast buffet with coffee served table side and we were also served lemonade and cookies at our table At breakfast you could also order any kind of eggs that you wanted Was able to get a vanity kit and a razor at the reception CONS Few sunbeds by the roof top pool No sunbeds at the beach if he weather is rough/bad Few window tables at the restaurant at breakfast (everyone wants the nice view) Bathroom in our room was a little old fashioned and in need of a renovation No shower gel or toilet brush No shop of any kind at the hotel Ordered a salad with cheese at the bar that was almost only filled with onions (expensive and not tasty) No bacon at breakfast, only natural yoghurt some mornings and seldom oatmeal Restaurant for dinner was more like a canteen, nothing special or particulary cosy Surcharge of 10 percent is forced on every purchase that you make at the restaurant and bar (strange and you are in essence forced to tip the staff) Overall, we had a really nice stay and will certainly be back the next time we visit Rio!

Staff and Location Great

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Arrived from airport around 12pm with reservation for two rooms. Had requested earlier that rooms be connecting or at least side by side. At check in Julia informed me that we did get side by side rooms and in fact upgraded one of the rooms to a larger room. Rooms weren’t ready yet as checkin was 3pm but one of them became ready within 30 minutes so we could get situated. Location is directly across street from eastern end of Copacabana beach. The rooms were definitely dated and there were some ants crawling around the mini bar area. The bath products were not the usual Hilton ones, and not as nice. The breakfast buffet is good with local and American options (get the cheese bread). Staff were always happy to help and very polite. One big drawback was the noise. We were on 10th floor and could hear the street music very clearly, but that happens at a lot of hotels. The walls are quite thin though as we could hear our neighbors who got up quite early. When they used the hair dryer it felt like they were in my room. Hotel is about 25 mins from GIG with no traffic and 1 hour with traffic. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance and the Rio Sul mall is about a mile away. Overall, it was not a bad stay.
