This is NOT a 5 star hotel
This hotel was supposed to be a 5 star property and I would be generous to award it 2 stars. The rooms are in desperate need of updating and renovation. The wallpaper is peeling off the wall! The floor of the shower is slippery tile with no grab bar for safety. We were in Brasil, the coffee capital in the world. Yet we were disappointed and insulted to find only instant coffee in our room. I gave 2 stars only for the location and the hotel staff at reception and the restaurant. There was only one menu offered in the restaurant so no choices for dinner as opposed to lunch. There were no luxury amenities in the bathroom and no shower gel at all. I am a loyal Hilton Honors member, but I would never stay at this property again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

No luxury, just tired dated hotel in need of a revamp.
Tired dated hotel, rooms basic in dated brown wood. Bathrooms very outdated, with limited provisions. Whole hotel needs refurbishment. Restaurant more like a canteen, breakfast buffet was ok, there was an omelette station but only one chef and given how busy it was huge queue. Overall very limited service again what you would expect from a 4 star hotel, this isn’t a 5 star. Personally if you want a more luxurious stay I would recommend Belmond on Copacabana.

Busy, busy, busy:buzz, buzz, buzz
The location is excellent and it’s very busy with tourists and business conference visitors. There is a charming rooftop bar with a small splash pool. My husband started swimming in it and was told to stop as it’s for cooling off and posing only ! Breakfast is a real experience - queue to get in and get out ! There’s a generous offering and the waiters work hard to turn the tables around quickly. We were here 3 nights and enjoyed the convenience of the beach chairs/umbrellas but the beach vendors are full-on. Take a stroll down to the Copacabana Palace and we took a taxi to the end of Ipanema Beach and then walked back. Room was very comfortable and we splurged on a sea view which is worth it. Note: no one helps with luggage and smokers stand outside the hotel entrance.

Tired hotel, not upto Hilton standards
This hotel has an excellent location. However the reception staff were very unhelpful verging on rude. We arrived at 14:45 for check in but despite being told check in was 15:00 we were made to wait until 15:30. Then we were given the key with no explanation about the hotel/facilities. Our room had a good view as we had paid extra for an ocean front room. Unfortunately the room was tired , especially the terrible bathroom that had a very short bath. The roof top pool was tiny. Breakfast was very noisy with crazy background music and a very limited selection, not what I normally find in a Hilton. On asking for a late check out reception simple said no, they didn’t give me the chance to say that I only wanted an extension from 12:00 till 13:00. Clearly this hotel needs a refurb and some staff training. Definitely not the standard you’d expect from the Hilton brand!

Be ware!!! It is NOT a 5star hotel!!
A utter disappointment!! Apart from the fact that it is on the beach,the breakfast is basic,the rooms are basic AND I GOT STOLEN 170 EUROS FROM MY WALLET, in my backpack IN my room, and the hotel "OFCOURSE" did nothing, nada, niente!!! They were just bullshiting me about some "incestigation".....!! Also a collegue of mine on the same day, got 500 euros stolen from his room, from his backpack!!! There is nothing more to say!!! They are just "working" the clients....Brazil as usual!!! It is really rediculous ....nothing has changed fir the last 40-50 years!!
