Everything you need

Overall this was a really great stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful and you constantly see staff around the resort all day doing maintenance tasks. As for other properties that will not do housekeeping everyday, this property did. It was so nice having fresh towels every day considering we were at the beach and in the pool daily and did not want to reuse towels. They were mindful of our belongings and the room was always set up perfectly. The drinks and food we had were way better than we expected and it was nice having the market open 24/7. There are plenty of filtered water and ice refill stations all over the resort, I just wish it was advertised somewhere when I booked because we had wound up going to the store before the resort to purchase a case of bottled water to use. The pool was massive with plenty of shallow areas that my 20 month old could stand in and they even had a separate 1 foot pool. The pool definitely got crowded but there was never a time that we couldn’t find chairs. We only went to the beach once, which got more crowded towards the early afternoon, and there were no waves which was again perfect for my 20 month old. The beach was a little rocky/shelly which my son did not enjoy stepping on but it wasn’t terrible. And the water was crystal clear! We had the king garden view room which had plenty of space for the 3 of us. There was a pull out couch but we opted for a crib for our son and it was already in the room waiting for us when we got there. It was also an actual crib instead of a pack and play like I’ve received at other Hyatt properties. The rooms also were very quiet, we never heard room doors shutting or any speaking from adjacent rooms, even having a door that connected to the next room. Self parking is about $16 a day, which my husband was annoyed with and hates paying for, but the parking lot was a good size, close to our room and always had plenty of parking available. The resort is large and they do have golf carts that can bring you around if needed, but we enjoyed walking around everywhere and nothing was ever too far to get to. There were corporate events and a wedding during the week we were there but the resort never felt over crowded or overwhelmed with people which I was surprised with. The only negative thing I can say is they add a tip to EVERYTHING you purchase and we were not aware of that ahead of time. It’s not a huge percentage but it definitely hindered us from purchasing more. You want a single $5 cookie from the market? A tip is added. Sweatshirt from the resort shop? Another tip. Multiple rounds of drinks at the pool? Not worth it because you’re paying a service charge every single time. I always tip and I am a generous tipper, but having that tip added on every single thing we bought was very annoying and unnecessary. We would have purchased way more at the resort not having that and found ourselves leaving the resort more to buy outside food/drinks to bring back in. My husband wound up going to the case station and buying 2 6-packs of beer for the same price he paid for 1 single beer at the resort after the tip was added. Overall the resort was beautiful and relaxing and we found ourselves saying we would go back in a heartbeat before we even left.
