I am writing to convey our heartfelt thanks for the exceptional care and warmth that Emily and I have experienced during our many visits to Viceroy Riviera Maya. As someone who has traveled to over 70 countries and encountered a multitude of cultures, people, and places, I can confidently say that the hospitality and kindness shown by your team makes us feel truly at home and among friends. While Viceroy Riviera Maya is a beautiful and secluded property, what truly draws us back time and again is the genuine care and friendliness extended by everyone there. In recent times, there have been challenges and divisions in the U.S., but our experiences in Mexico—both professionally and personally—have continually reaffirmed our admiration for the warmth, dedication, and strong sense of family and honor among Mexican people. As a business owner for over 25 years, I know firsthand the toll that work life can take and the importance of caring for others during difficult times. We deeply appreciate being able to entrust our well-being to your team and to find respite at Viceroy Riviera Maya, which has become an oasis for us amid the chaos of daily life. With the upcoming renovations and the property’s closure for over a year, we sincerely hope you will find ways to retain your wonderful staff. While beautiful buildings and ocean views are available elsewhere, it is your team’s extraordinary hospitality that sets Viceroy Riviera Maya apart. Overall an incredible experience. This was our 6th time to visit we love it so much. The Chef went out of his way to accommodate our special dietary restrictions of no seed oils. Amazing!

This place is truly a slice of paradise. From the moment you arrive, the natural atmosphere immediately draws you in, making you feel completely immersed in the beauty around you. The staff was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, ensuring every detail was handled with care. They went above and beyond to recognize our 15-year anniversary, making our stay unforgettable. Breakfast at the Coral Reef Restaurant was exceptional — delicious food paired with a stunning beach view and outstanding service. Our suite was spacious, private, and so comfortable that we hardly wanted to leave. If you’re looking for a peaceful, romantic getaway surrounded by nature and excellent hospitality, this is the perfect destination. We’ll definitely be back soon!

This resort is amazing, my wife and I came for our honeymoon for 7 nights and did not leave the resort a single time, it wasn't necessary. The service was amazing, the staff did an incredible job making sure you had what you needed to be comfortable and relaxed, whether it was getting you a drink while you relax on the beach, bringing you a cold rag to cool off while you sunbathe, providing you with a one of a kind view for a dining experience, or just simply having all of the staff call you by name when you hadn't introduced yourself, they were always there to make your stay better, be friendly, and make you more comfortable. Not only the service, but the privacy as well, the villas are so secluded from one another that it felt like we had the entire resort to ourselves, they do an incredible job not over-crowding the resort. It doesn't end there, the opportunities that we had to learn about the Mexican culture were endless, whether it was a tequila and ceviche class, margarita and guacamole class, or Mexican wine tasting. They had something for everybody, we took advantage of all the extras that the resort had to offer and would highly recommend them to anyone coming for their visit. We had the opportunity for a couples massage in the spa and could not have been more impressed with the set up, from the private steam room and relaxation area prior to the massage, to the beautiful outdoor setting where the massage takes place, you couldn't picture a more relaxing afternoon. One thing that struck me was that every day felt different, even with being at the resort and not leaving for a full 6 days, not one day felt the same. From the classes I mentioned earlier to the different dinner settings each night and special dinners on Wednesday and Friday, Mexican street food night (Wed., incredibly delicious) and grill night (Fri., awesome surf and turf), it felt like a new experience every night. I can't speak highly enough about how amazing our stay was and how highly we would recommend it to those thinking about a trip to Mexico.

We spent our honeymoon at the Viceroy Riviera Maya, and the abridged version of this review... BEST VACATION EVER! I've stayed in hotels/resorts all across Europe, Oceania and the States, and the Viceroy Riviera Maya is hands down the best and most luxurious resort I've ever experienced. Listen, your villa will be in the jungle. That means, monkies, cats, birds and lizards are all around you. Don't consider that as a knock against the Viceroy, rather it's part of the appeal. As far as the food, Chef Alejandro is a magician! Again, best food we've ever had at a resort. Just the food itself would be reason to keep returning, but there are wonders all around the villas, the jungle and the beach that seems secluded from the neighboring resorts. We shall return and I honestly would tell anyone on the fence to book this place NOW. You will not regret it.
