Viceroy Riviera Maya

We spent our honeymoon at the Viceroy Riviera Maya, and the abridged version of this review... BEST VACATION EVER! I've stayed in hotels/resorts all across Europe, Oceania and the States, and the Viceroy Riviera Maya is hands down the best and most luxurious resort I've ever experienced. Listen, your villa will be in the jungle. That means, monkies, cats, birds and lizards are all around you. Don't consider that as a knock against the Viceroy, rather it's part of the appeal. As far as the food, Chef Alejandro is a magician! Again, best food we've ever had at a resort. Just the food itself would be reason to keep returning, but there are wonders all around the villas, the jungle and the beach that seems secluded from the neighboring resorts. We shall return and I honestly would tell anyone on the fence to book this place NOW. You will not regret it.

My boyfriend and I were previously at the Viceroy in St. Lucia and were blow away not only by the attention to detail regarding cuisine, aesthetic, activities, and amenities, but mostly by the service. The Viceroy in Riviera Maya was no different! They greeted us by name each day, knew our orders, came by with complimentary appetizers, refilled our ice buckets, and were waiting on us every step of the way. They even surprised us with a decorated villa one evening for my boyfriend’s birthday. It truly made the trip special and felt that we were valued. Pepe, the server at the beach and pool was by far the most attentive, gracious, and kind person. We looked forward to seeing him everyday. Overall- highly recommend!!

My girlfriend and I went for 4 nights and had a blast! We stayed in a signature villa and the room was absolutely stunning, we both noted how incredible the thatched ceiling was to look up at from bed, and obviously the plunge pool outside and the outdoor shower were great! As great as the hotel itself is, the hotel staff are truly what made this place a gem!! They went above and beyond; when we were at the pool, making sure we always had ice cold water bottles and coming around with some complimentary frozen fruit popsicles and a small complimentary cocktail here and there! We needed to get some medication from a pharmacy and they took control of the situation and when they realized the pharmacy didn’t have exactly what we had inquired about, came over to us to walk us through the numerous options that were available rather than just choosing one, and they had the medication delivered to our room for us so we didn’t have to worry about leaving the hotel! They really care about their guests! Other small touches-too numerous to count, but one that sticks out is that one night at dinner when it got a bit windy, they were at our table in 10 seconds, offering my girlfriend a hair tie…truly impeccable service, prepared for anything and everything! A great place to relax and unwind, it’s just so hard to leave such a magical place! We will certainly be coming back!

I had an absolutely incredible stay at Viceroy Riviera Maya. The boutique feel of the property made everything feel intimate and personalized. The service was outstanding, the food was phenomenal, and the entire space was beautifully designed — nestled in the jungle, which created such a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable. Everything from start to finish was a 10/10. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return.

We would go back in a heartbeat. We stayed for 9 nights, and left the resort only one day for a private tour to Tulum. The pool, restaurant, and beach staff are among the best trained, friendliest, and helpful team of coworkers we've ever encountered. Special requests didn't disturb them at all. In fact, they seemed to thrive on providing a customized experience outside their usual. Like good improvisational actors, their answers always start with, "yes, and . . ." Truly an awesome experience. Pricey, but worth it!
