Called a “sexy, eco-conscious hideaway in the jungle” by Travel + Leisure, Viceroy Riviera Maya utilizes nature’s beauty in its design and details. Thatched stucco villas are finished with louvered mahogany doors, sisal rugs and canopy beds with Egyptian linens, and the surrounding rainforest infuses the grounds with serenity. Viceroy blends just the right amount of indulgence into your stay: Beckon a “tropical butler” for a poolside iced towel and learn about the area’s best tequilas during a tasting led by the resident Maestro Tequilero.

This hotel has all the enviromental things and amenities that you need as a guest if you like calm , pasivity , great energy, jungle and nature contact. We were a group of 6 villas , of all kinds and all over the hotel. Everthing was great according to plan. Staff great, villas great, beach was a bit with Sargazo , but tolerable. Food fantastic service pretty pro. Its not a huge resort, it does not have a huge pool. Its a place to be with your fiance or with friends, if you like luxury and service. You have to walk minutes to get to the main pool area and to get to the beach if you are in the back villas area. Most of them are there, but all of the rooms are simply magical. Its not cheap at all, but every penny goes back to you. As a jungle hotel, expect some fauna that are part of the enviroment, which makes the experience even better.

Viceroy Riviera Maya is a little hidden paradise. I’ve been 3 times now and it has been incredible each time. The food is amazing, the staff is exceptional, and the accommodations are lovely and fit for some serious relaxation. The spa is top tier.

We just enjoyed 4 nights at this wonderful boutique hotel. Depending on what you are looking for, we found it to be near perfect. My wife and I were looking for a quiet, romantic stay down in the Cancun area. We typically stay at Nizuc, which is pretty nice, and we've also stayed at the Mayakoba properties, but we wanted something quieter and smaller for this trip. If you are looking for a loud party atmosphere or a hotel to hang out at with a bunch of friends, this is not for you. If you are looking for an intimate getaway with your spouse, look no further. The Viceroy is a lovely boutique hotel. Adults only so no screaming kids. Just a bunch of adult couples. The staff to guest ratio is very high so you receive a very high level of attention at the pool, restaurants etc. There are not a ton of food options here, but both the Coral bar/restaurant and La Marea were very good with nice service and interesting menus. Special shoutout to Erich for making the whole experience wonderful. Also a special shoutout to Luis and Francisco who were excellent pool attendants. I love that you don't have to fight for pool chairs here either, which is definitely a thing at bigger hotels. The spa is very small but beautiful and we got an excellent 80 minute couples massage. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Housekeeping does a great job. The outdoor areas are the best part, with large heated plunge pools and plenty of functional seating options for lounging or having an outdoor meal. As others have noted, there are some noisy neighboring hotels. I would say 1 of the 4 nights of our stay we were forced to listening to fairly loud DJ music. Honestly though it was not a big deal and it ended by 11pm. It is still the Cancun area after all. Overall, this is a wonderful hotel for a serene couples getaway. Amazing staff, nice amenities, good food, well located from Cancun and Playa del Carmen, and honestly great value when compared to some other luxury options in the area.

Its good not great. If you are looking for a party or even a lounge vibe this is not it for you. Its very quiet and for couples that want to really spend time with each other only. If you are looking for a quiet vibe. Be aware that the hotel next door can get super loud and disturb that at tbe oddest time of day and all they give you is earplugs as a solution.
