The Inn At The Spanish Steps

We stayed for 5days at the inn over the Christmas holidays. The hotel was central to everything Rome has to offer. Our room was perfect with an impressive view of The Spanish Steps. The amenities in the room were excellent. The bed was so comfortable. Breakfast on the roof was a delight with individual orders accommodated promptly. We enjoyed drinks at the bar where service was impeccable. Reception arranged all of our taxis and were so helpful and thoughtful. We would certainly choose to stay at this hotel again when we return to Rome. Grazie mille.

Stayed for 3 nights on a B&B basis in the main hotel, booked via Jet 2. Excellent location near Spanish Steps and metro, easy to get out and about on foot to explore Rome. Room was lovely, a real pleasure to stay in with a traditional and boutique feel. Highlight was breakfast up on the roof garden (there was a decent sized indoor room if the weather was not up to alfresco breakfasting!) - staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to ensure you had everything you wanted. Really good selection of food available as well and excellent coffee! Drinks also served on the roof garden from 3pm, although not the cheapest!

I returned to the hotel after having stayed there in the past and had a truly wonderful stay. First of all, the staff is absolutely lovely-from the check-in people to the people at breakfast. When making a reservation, Steve has been so kind and helpful. My room had an amazing view of the Spanish Steps and was quite spacious. I was in an annex building on the top floor and loved it. They served breakfast there and it is truly a wonderful breakfast-smoked salmon and all!!!!! Bottled water is provided in the room. The location is the best-right near the Spanish Steps and convenient to so much. The Metro is a few minutes away. I am actually returning to the hotel in a few weeks and cannot wait! It is truly a wonderful place to stay in Rome!!

Was promised - in fact guaranteed - a room in the main part of the hotel. Got put into some obscure annex down some grotty side street. Then when questioned by the tour company the hotel lied and did we were shown rooms in the main hotel and turned them down. Out right lies. Poor quality rooms. Poor quality hotel. Poor quality management. Also the photos of the views from the hotel are not true - you cannot see the Spanish Steps from any balcony of the hotel. More lies.

We booked the Carrozze - Full breakfast option. When we booked this, there was no description, or mention that it was in a separate building. We booked a hotel for security more than anything. But our ‘room’ was an apartment 500 yards away down a side street. 2 flights of stairs up, no lift, making it pointless to attend breakfast in the main hotel. We didn’t really feel like booked a hotel, instead we might as-well of booked a Airbnb. Luckily we are fit and able, had we not been, we would’ve struggled. Had the hotel specified this before we checked in, we would’ve found alternative accommodation. We booked this hotel specifically to stay in the hotel, mainly for safety and security. Felt like we were duped a bit. Likely the first tourist trap we encountered in Rome. However, the room we did have was nice, location was great for travelling around Rome.
