Where does royalty stay when the palace is being redecorated? Queen Margherita of Savoy chose the Regina Hotel Baglioni on the Via Veneto in Rome. This elegant Art Nouveau style hotel features period accents such as marble columns and Oriental carpets, while guest rooms and suites are truly palatial in their rich appointments and antique furnishings. Fine Mediterranean and international cuisine in a formal setting define the memorable dining experience offered at Le Grazi.

This is an extremely classy, service-first hotel with what I gather is a history of doing things up for some famous folks over its long history. You can't approach the front door without having it opened for you. Marble everywhere. Even in your room. They put a small towel with a pair of slippers next to your bed at turndown, in case you don't want to walk on a stone floor. We had a Junior Suite, btw, which was spacious and nice. The breakfast is ample, super satisfying for any taste, both healthy and indulgent and the room is well-staffed. We walked to a lot of places from here, including the Villa Borghese and Saint Paul's Within The Walls church for the Three Tenors concert (highly recommend this). One of our tours was happy to come to the hotel. The other was a 6-7 minute walk. The Capuchin Crypt is even closer. You could make the Spanish Steps in 10 or so, I think. There are also plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood, including a couple that don't close between lunch and dinner, which can be handy. There's also a cabstand catty corner from the front door, only paces away. There were always cabs there in January. We could've easily grabbed one to the airport instead pre-booking a more expensive ride, had we known. And by the way, the official white cabs in Rome are not expensive and most take cards. I don't think we paid more than about 9-11 Euro for any ride within the city walls. They have a spa in the basement with a small fitness center just off the elevator. I was a little worried at first, because there was only one treadmill. But I was the only customer the three times I went, so no problem. They also had mats and dumbbells, which I appreciated. A top-notch hotel, from top to bottom with a staff anxious to please. It's upscale and most guests were dressed nicely on their way in and out. But we were in jeans and nice tops at breakfast and were not the only ones; plenty of folks readying for their day of city touring looking pretty much like us.

We just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at the Baglioni Hotel Regina. We booked the hotel through Amex Platinum Travel. Upon arrival we were upgraded to the most beautiful suite on a quiet high floor with 2 small balconies. We loved hearing the distant church bells ringing. A bottle of prosecco awaited us in our room as well! Rocco the manager checked in with us frequently throughout our stay to ensure that we were comfortable. Valerio the concierge helped us with great restaurant recommendations. The bar , front desk and dining staff were friendly and welcoming . The staff at this hotel really made us feel welcome and well cared for. We highly recommend staying at this elegant, lovely hotel.

Our stay at Baglioni hotel in Rome was gret. The location is perfect—right in the center, so we could easily walk to all the famous sights. The hotel is elegant and very comfortable. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had a large, cozy comfortable bed . What really stood out was the incredible service at the reception. A big thank you to Olga, who was so professional, friendly, and attentive. She made sure everything was perfect and made us feel truly welcome.

The Baglioni Hotel Regina in Rome was the perfect place for my family to be during this Christmas season. Frankly, the trip was nothing short of magical. When you enter the elegant lobby, you’re welcomed by a warm, festive atmosphere. A Christmas tree and letter box to Santa awaits the guests. To our delight, there was a daily harp performance to accompany us at breakfast. The skillful performer played a blend of holiday melodies and many classical pieces, creating an ambiance that felt both celebratory and refined. Breakfast was always unhurried and the hotel plans for fresh fruits, breads, and breakfast options. The cappuccino was excellent and always topped off with foam art. Every detail at the Baglioni feels intentional, from the Italian linens to the attentive staff who make you feel welcomed and cared for. The rooms are very well appointed—spacious and thoughtfully designed and truly provides a serene retreat from Rome’s high energy. A holiday stay at the Baglioni Regina is truly unforgettable, and we look forward to returning again in the future.

Good location, clean rooms, great breakfast staff but no temperature control and rooms facing the road have high traffic noise. Room was hot but opening the window for air would be way too noisy. We changed rooms (as well as heavy road noise, the shower didn’t drain in the first one). Our next room at the back, 7th floor was quiet. Breakfast buffet has wide offerings and omelettes and crepes can be ordered. Breakfast staff are attentive. I was given a cappuccino that was bitter and made with more steam than milk so never drank it—didn’t have time to order another. Doors are heavy and doorman didn’t always open them, too busy chatting with reception staff, and I hurt my wrist opening it myself. 6/10.
