With an enviable location on the central, fashionable Via del Corso, the Grand Hotel Plaza is one of the most prestigious hotels in Rome. The Plaza has been a hotel since 1837 and since you walk through is doors you will be immersed in elegance and grandeur the minute you walk in. The rooms and suites are very spacious, styled with high Victorian ceilings, large marble bathrooms, period furniture and oriental rugs. Many guests can also enjoy a great view over the garden. The hotel is throwing in complimentary airport transfers and a free cocktail on arrival.

Definitely not a 5star hotel and not worth 600€ a night. Room was small and needs renovation, old carpet which made my socks dirty, old air conditioning/ heating system with the switch on the wall which seems not to be working. Visited in January and room and bathroom was very cold due to single glazed windows, you can feel cold from the windows. Bathroom very outdated, no shower just the bathtub and when you are having shower you just make all bathroom wet. Also couldn’t was my hair due to no shower. Not the best hairdryer and old scratched toiletries bottles, feels gross when I see that someone was using them before me. Walls are thin and you can hear conversations next door. When we arrived, I was shocked to realise that I have no kettle in my room.m, as I had to make milk for my baby. When I was to call reception, I found that the phone is not working. I had to go and look for housekeeping in corridors. After I spoke to the lady, I waited 40 minutes in my room and nothing happened. I had to go and look for someone again. At the end my husband had to go to the reception to complain and only after that we got some hot water. Worst customer service. It was raining and I asked for an umbrella at the reception, I was surprised to find out that they’ve “run out”. Havent seen a single guest with their umbrella and hotel wasn’t even fully booked so I believe they just don’t have it. Breakfast was okay however asked for a fried egg and been charged for that. No iron in the room and they also don’t provide it so would recommend to travel with your own unless you want to pay 15-50€ per item for ironing services. Terrace on top of the hotel was also outdated and does not look like the pictures on the website.

Las weekend, during my Christmas holidays in Rome, I stopped by the Plaza hotel bar for a drink. I was not staying at the hotel and entered just by chance. The hall is elegant and very welcoming, especially during the Christmas period. What truly made the experience stand out was the live piano music. The pianist was exceptional!! Her playing was sensitive, expressive and perfectly suited to the space. The combination of the beautiful setting, the Christmas decorations and the live piano music created a relaxed and festive mood, making the experience feel very special. A very pleasant place to stop by, even if you are not staying at the hotel, and a lovely way to enjoy a quiet moment accompanied by beautiful live piano music.

One of the most gorgeous hotels I've ever stayed in. It was regal and historic but still felt very warm and modern (which is often a hard balance to strike). The breakfast buffet was phenomenal with lots of choices and was open for several hours. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and gave us amazing restaurant recommendations. The location could not have been better - blocks away from the Spanish Steps (we could actually see the Cathedral from our room!) but not too close to where you are swamped with tourists. The room service was also divine - surprisingly some of the best pasta we had in Rome. Cannot wait to come back to Rome and stay here!

It was not my first stay in Grand hotel Plaza. Yet this time i was very disappointed! We did not stop having problems in our bathroom:one day the water flooded from the tub, another the plughole was not functionning in the shower then the toilet flash ...! We complained several times so they fixed it! The bathroom was renovated though... It ruined our stay ! Staff was nice and breakfast was very good. The hotel is old and beautiful but needs maintenance and renovations.

What an exquisite hotel with a lot of history! My husband and I stayed here for four nights. This was a wonderful experience! Katya Pagella, Matteo Jr and Matteo Sr and staff (from the time you step in the front door to our room service); they were all very accommodating and gracious to us. We will never forget them. This hotel is one you'll feel like you've stepped back in time from the early 1900s with a Victorian ornate style. It's absolutely beautiful! Most of all the staff makes you feel at ease. The Veranda on the rooftop is lovely! Thank you for a wonderful stay and experience!!
