Reviews for Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel & Spa

We loved Parco!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

I was a bit unsure about booking this hotel… in the end I something convinced me to go ahead.. I am glad I did! Customer Service/Check-in Desk I was actually taken aback with the reception area (in an excellent way)! We checked in and were helped up to our room. Score A+ Room: Woow! We had a Deluxe room but, my.. was it nice! (I know the Art Decor styling is not to everyone’s taste) but, I have stayed in some pretty basic hotels recently.. so this was a very NICE uplift! Not a huge room in any way and we had Champagne and fruit waiting for us with a note from Management (It was our anniversary) This was very kind of them. I was even asked by the Mrs how I found this hotel – that was a quiet seal of approval! Score A Breakfast: OK… So was not tooo impressed here I am afraid. The choices were limited – Can’t imagine having running eggs and frankfurters 5 days in a row.. and what was the stodgy rice and sauce doing on the breakfast menu?? Some of the fruit had oxidized as well… but, the good thing was that breakfast closed a bit late – great for late sleepers. Score C-. Room Service: Hmm… Another let down I am afraid. We decided to order in-house on our last night and the food was … very very underwhelming. Mine was quite bland and the Mrs..well they got her veg. Order wrong twice! Plus it was very pricey I have to say.. oh well. Score D. Housekeeping/Maintenance: Nothing to report here. – Simply excellent. Score A Pool/SPA: Complementary access to the 25 meter indoor pool and SPA as a hotel guest. Fully stocked GYM and reasonably priced merchandise to boot. Really impressed. Score A+ Wi-Fi: Signal was not too great if I recall. Score C Location: Located right next to the world famous Borghese Gardens, with so much history on your doorstep… you will be hard pressed to find a better location in Rome! Now there are no metro stations close by but, there are bus stops and a 25min walk through the gardens will get you to a metro station. Score A+ Gripes.. ;( Only one ..apart from Breakfast.. and this was the Thermostat/Temp Control in the rooms. I have noticed that hotels centrally control the temp in the rooms – and install what I call “play” controls – to give the guest a sense of control which in reality, they don’t have! Unfortunately, it was a case in point for our room. I reported to reception on our 1st night, as the temp was too warm and the thermostat in the room was making no difference. The temp was lowered “centrally” but, we could barely sleep. (Rome was still pretty warm early November). After another uncomfortable night, I had to make an official complaint. And in fairness it was dealt with – I must say the hotel staff are simply awesome. They did all they could to make us comfortable. During the 1st night, we were given the keys to another room next to ours – which was “cooler”. We did sleep there for the night but made no difference – in fact it proved warmer than ours! After the complaint, we were moved to a Junior Suite (I know right) – with separate controls for the living and bedroom areas and given a fan as well! What is that for customer service!! And no ..this move was complementary as well!. So.. I have to score Customer Service… Score A+ Overall – I LOVED this hotel… its décor, its location… the staff…. Really impressed. (But please sort out Breakfast/Room Service/Thermostats) Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

Making the Rome get away memorable

Classy, welcoming, warm and friendly is always fashionable. The hotel experience made the trip to Rome even more pleasant than it usually. Special thank you to reception staff and everybody attending the guests. We shall return

Probably the best hotel/resort in Rome

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Been there a number of times. Friendly staff that remembers you and takes care of you - restaurant recommendations and getting reservations, booking taxis, handling luggage without tipping, supplied shaving cream when the overheard my mentioning to my wife, etc-. Bathrooms could use an update but are adequate and understand that they are in progress (could be finished by now - last trip beginning of October). Staying again in January, 2026. Beetles stayed there many years ago.

Beautiful lobby, AWFUL room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

If you like hotels that are termed "historic," "cozy,", and "antique furnished," this is the place for you. However, if you like modern amenities like showers you can fit in, standard height bath vanities, charging ports, or A/C that was installed in the last few decades, go somewhere else. The lobby is beautiful. If you were to walk into the hotel and judge whether to stay or not, you would likely think the rooms would be OK. They are not. The sleeping area of the room was like the pictures, so no surprise there. And had the A/C worked and the bathroom been adequate, I would give this many more stars. First the A/C - it sucked and the control looked like it was installed sometime in the last century (see pic). As the temps were nice outside we would open our patio door until tons of second hand smoke wafted in from the are where deliveries are made. Net/net - hot room, miserable. Bathroom - this entire bathroom is built for people who are around 5 feet tall. When I stood in the shower/tub I had to turn sideways. If I faced forward my feet were up the side of the tub it was so narrow. There was no shower curtain, only a half glass wall. The shower head has been re-engineered to the original plumbing, is in the corner, and if you do not hand hold the shower head, you flood out the bathroom. Also, if you are not careful you will stub your foot on the drain cap which is nearly the size of a frisbee. The vanity is one of those real low height vanities like were in style back in about the 1970s. Lastly, the marble floors were probably great when they were new, but are now heavily stained around the toilet/bidet and are disgusting. PICTURES attached. We are in our 60's and have traveled a lot. This is perhaps the worst hotel room we have EVER stayed in. It rivals Holiday Inns out in the middle of nowhere you stay at when on a road trip. Hotel is in need of either a compete remodel or a complete demolition.

The best hotel in Roma!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! Starting with Luca who welcomed us quite early on a Sunday who went out of his way to get us comfortable while we waited for our room. The concierge (I forgot her name) was so accommodating, finding great restaurants for dinner! The entire staff from the spa, to bar, to restaurant, even the welcome when you come to the door! the desk staff made sure we had everything we needed! The location was perfect o reach everywhere in Rome and beyond. The hotel atmosphere was perfectly chill and just a gorgeous property! Rooms were comfortable, housekeeping staff amazing! I wish I could recall the names of everyone we talked to you but some special mentions: Gabriella & Danilo in the restaurant and for sure, Marco & Federico who were just incredible helping me get a pair of glasses I left behind. Treat yourself and stay at this hotel, you will never want to stay anywhere else when in Rome! Besides, September in Rome is gorgeous! M Santelli
