Reviews for Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel

All around great experience, again

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This was my second stay here. This hotel is pure luxury. I don't know how I would find something to complain about. We stayed one night, as we landed in Rome before heading to other parts of Italy the following day. Checkin was easy and my Hilton Diamond status was recognized. This was our 20th-anniversary trip. They left champagne and chocolates in our room, which had been upgraded to a balcony with Rome view, which is stunning, even the second time around. My sister also had a room and after walking around Rome for a few hours we returned and all had dinner delivered to my room, which was great, as were the staff that brought our food and set up the table. The bed and pillow are pure joy. Breakfast was delicious and again the staff in the dining room went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted. Funny tidbit: At the end of our trip, we had 1 night booked in a Venice hotel which the hotel abruptly canceled causing us to have to book whatever rooms we could find last minute. After we had checked in (again two rooms) my sister texted me "This is a long way from being the Waldorf", which was an understatement. It is hard to find the luxury, service, and comfort of the Rome Cavalieri!

Rooms and Service are not 5 stars

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The rooms are very outdated for a 5 star property. Upon check-in, we were assigned a room all the way at the end of the hall with an AC that was loud with a broken motor. Although I received an upgrade offer through the Hilton app, I decided to wait since I booked with my American Express and usually get upgraded upon arrival. No, here we are waiting for them to move our bags to the next room without an apology. To say that I am upset, unhappy and pissed is an understatement. zero stars service from a supposed to be 5 star hotel. Pictures of the outdated and video of the loud ac to follow. We are celebrating our Anniversary and we’re expecting a luxury property. Stay elsewhere if you’re reading this review.

An oasis in busy Rome

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

My wife and I spent a few days in Rome and stayed at this beautiful hotel. Rome was this combination of incredible beauty, grunge and frustration. The hotel itself is really lovely, with a beautiful pool area, wonderful artwork throughout, and beautiful views of the city (from up the hill where the hotel is located). It is a shuttle/cab ride into town for anything and everything - which unfortunately means dealing with Rome traffic! The upside of the distance is that the hotel functions as an oasis in a very busy city. The downside is that it takes a little longer, and you have to deal with a little more of the traffic and frustration to get anywhere. We loved our experience at this hotel!

An Amazing Hotel!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed for three nights for my 40th birthday - this was an amazing stay from start to finish. We booked a King Deluxe room and upgraded to an Imperial Room, with access to the Imperial Club via the Hilton eStandby upgrade at about €100 per night. We were then upgraded to a Rome view room due to Hilton Gold status. We also arrived to a bottle of prosecco and a birthday cake in our room. The Imperial Club and the view absolutely made our stay, so I would definitely recommend booking these if you have the option. The Imperial Club is absolutely amazing (probably the best lounge I've ever accessed) and we visited frequently throughout our stay. The hotel as a whole is like staying in a museum, there are some incredible artifacts on display throughout - it's worth just wandering the lobby, corridors and communal areas. The room was excellent, breakfast was excellent, staff and service was outstanding, and the views were breathtaking. It is slightly outside of the city, but we were actually quite glad of this, it was great to have views across the city and the free hotel shuttle and/or taxis (€10-15) make accessing the main sights very easy. We've previously stayed at Conrad Algarve (CA) and Waldorf Amsterdam (WA), both of which were exceptionally good and this definitely rivalled both. The only minor note I'd add is that the check in and arrival experience here fails to rival CA and WA, both of whom offer seated check in with welcome drinks, etc. This hotel is worth every penny though, an absolute treat 😊

Fantastic Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed here for the weekend at the end of April and had a fantastic experience. All of the staff were super friendly from the moment we arrived to when we left. This really is a five star hotel in our opinion. The decor in the hotel is amazing. The bar had a good atmosphere and the breakfast was really good with excellent service. We had a King size Premium room which was very spacious and comfortable. It costs around 50 euros to and from the airport by taxi. The taxis to the centre of the city are about 20 euros. Taxis are always available at the front of the hotel. Too far to walk into the city so just bear that in mind. Outdoor Pool was warm with a good bar service.
