The Rome EDITION

We just finished an amazing stay at the Rome Edition hotel which left us so impressed. The decor and atmosphere of the place is great, but a few things really stood out. The staff was excellent across the board, they were so attentive, always ensuring our stay was perfect. Every single team member would ask us if we needed anything, suggested restaurants and places to go. The Punch Room and Jade Bar- the gems of the hotel. The wine selection and the inventive cocktails were fantastic. The hotel is centrally located to so many attractions that were easy to walk to.

Gorgeous hotel and exceptional service from the local team. I booked the hotel for my parents for an 80th birthday celebration. Room was spacious and beautifully designed and decorated. Excellent amenities and room was exceptionally clean. The Edition chain never fails to deliver. 100% recommend.

We had a great two day stay at The Edition Rome. Amazing boutique hotel situated down a private cobble stone road way off the Main Street. Nestled in a quiet enclave away from the street noise and hustle and bustle of Rome. The lobby is sunken into a garden area which leads to the main reception entrance. We arrived at dusk and the lighting in the lobby garden was mesmerizing, creating an amazing arrival. The guest rooms are modern, sleek in design. If you are familiar with The Edition, you will appreciate their attention to detail. The wood wall finishes soothes the ultra modern , making the rooms warm and inviting. Needless to say, at this level the staff professionalism was flawless, top cleanliness and services throughout. This is our new fav property in Rome.

We stayed at the Rome Edition for 4 wonderful nights. We felt special and very welcome from the second we arrived. Staff are professional, friendly and always aiming to please. Hotel entrance is on a small side street away from traffic and only a 5 minute walk to Piazza Barberini. Hotel has a contemporary flare and is immaculately maintained with multiple venues to enjoy a relaxing cocktail. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with a courtyard view and an abundance of space and comfort. I would highly recommend The Rome Edition.

Rome is an ancient city filled with masterpieces. The brushstrokes of Caravaggio, the elegance of Raphael, the sculptural language of Bernini, and even the play of light and shadow in Fellini's films all converge here. They form the essence of Italian art. In this eternal city overflowing with inspiration, EDITION chose to write its first Italian chapter. The Rome EDITION officially opened in July 2023. EDITION is definitely not just a "luxury Grand Hyatt," even though that is a popular joke among hotel enthusiasts. Admittedly, I have not stayed at many EDITION properties, only the ones in Shanghai, Sanya, Tokyo's Toranomon, and now Rome. But each stay confirmed my belief. EDITION's minimalist aesthetic is not bland. It is a richness expressed through restraint. The Rome property, wrapped in greenery and light, feels like a modern palace. It effortlessly showcases contemporary Italian style. As the 16th EDITION hotel worldwide, the Rome property reaffirms the brand's unique and determined path. In the increasingly competitive luxury hotel sector, EDITION consistently stands out. It becomes a striking style landmark in its city. Looking back, EDITION was created by Marriott as a direct competitor to Starwood's W brand. But its deeper significance was Marriott's forward-looking response to future luxury lifestyle trends. It moved away from flashy symbols toward a focus on substance, storytelling, and deep, meaningful experiences. Both are luxury lifestyle brands targeting younger generations. Both are distinct brands now under Marriott. Yet EDITION and W have chosen completely different paths. One embraces quiet, minimalist sophistication. The other champions a vibrant, nightclub-inspired energy. There is no superior style, but if asked for a preference, my answer might already be found in the soft morning light falling on the travertine floors of Rome.
