The people are polite. They arranged a car from the cruise ship port to the hotel and got us checked in quickly and efficiently. So no problems there. Were were staying for 4 nights and on the second night when we returned late the thermostat was flashing an error code and blinking brightly. We notified the front desk and they said they would reset it remotely but it just blinked all night, keeping us awake. We finally rigged a way to cover the unit and could sleep. The next day when we were going out I talked to the front desk again and they said they would take care of it. At the end of a long day doing a Vatican tour, I checked with the front desk and they assured me that it was taken care of. When I got to the room it wasn't fixed. The thermostat was still blinking an error code so I called down and they sent engineering up. He reset the panel and the error code went away but the heater wasn't working and it was cold in the room and when we tried to take a shower we realized we had no hot water. I called the front desk again and they said they turned up the heat and reset the hot water remotely. The room never got warmer and I waited past midnight for the hot water to work but it never did. We checked out early the next morning. The staff was "very sorry" for the inconvenience but didn't offer much beyond their apologies. No discount or credit. For over €800 per night, I expected more from a 5-star property. I've had a better stay at a Motel 6. Steer clear of room #: 102! On another note, the rooms are kind of small, the water pressure in the shower is very low, the bathroom (in our room) has an inconvenient layout/design, the room has little storage and the music in the lobby is too loud, making conversation inconvenient. I hope you have a better stay and experience than I did.

The Edition is a gorgeous, modern hotel, and my stay here was all too brief. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, and we heard no street noise at night thanks to being on a side street so found it very restful. It is also in a great location and we found it easy to walk to a number of sites from here. The staff are all wonderful, everyone we spoke with was very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at Anima and it was absolutely amazing, with incredible food and a charming waiter who shared lots of information about the food and beverages. We are returning soon and I couldn’t be more excited.

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Rome EDITION. The hotel feels new, fresh, and it is designed with a blend of Roman soul and modern elegance. Our room was beautiful and the rooftop views were incredible. Also, their breakfast was exceptional. What also made our stay unforgettable was their team. Every staff member we met was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. A special acknowledgment to Marina (General Manager), Yasemin (Director of Rooms), Benito (Restaurant Manager), Riccardo (Bar Manager), Paola and Manila (Assistant Front Office Managers), and Vanessa (Quality Manager). We really admire their professionalism and hospitality.

We spent the final two nights of an extended Italian holiday at this hotel and it ended our trip on a high note. The staff alone would make the hotel very special. They were delightful to deal with and could not have been more competent and courteous. There was a smile and a kind word on every lip. The hotel design is a masterpiece, as one expects at an Ian Schrager hotel. The lobby is a modern cathedral of wood, glass and stone and the courtyard restaurant is as close to perfect as I’ve experienced. It was a cool evening that we dined there and our dinner entrees’ arrived quite late and cold. Mine was not what I ordered. The plates were whisked away and remade, but again arrived late and cold. We ate every bite of it and it was simply delicious anyway. We surmised that the distance from the kitchen to the patio in the cool air was the cause. Our waitress insisted that we accept our choice of desserts as an apology, all with a smile and the impression that she wanted nothing more than to make us happy. I would stay there again with great pleasure.

The normal rooms are extremely small. This seven story property had only one working elevator. The wait time for one exceeded often 10 minutes. We were tired after our late arrival and had dinner at the restaurant. They have a beautiful courtyard terrace. But it was completely empty on a Saturday night at 9pm. Main dinner time in Rome. And it clearly showed why. The food was awful. For Rome standards it was just plain bad. Also the terrace has the disadvantage that people sit there through the night drinking. This becomes very loud and if your room is to that side (which is the main view side) you wont sleep without ear plugs. Breakfast on a Sunday morning was packed, service non existent. And as it is an Edition it is not included for Ambassadors, but you get bf for 25 Euros as an Elite, which is fair. If it would not be so sub par. As it was raining the terrace was not available (its not covered!) It is served in a very warm room without a window. They also did not offer turndown service on neither of the two nights we stayed there. The bar is also in a tiny room, felt very cramped. They have in fact two Bars, both equally small. Does not make sense and accordingly they were empty both nights we stayed there. If the terrace is closed (due to rain in our case) the hotel has no attractive social spaces. All in all the worst Edition Hotel I have ever been to. Its basically a better Marriott, but nothing to write home about for 1400 Euros a night!
